Throughout my adult life, I have struggled with depression and anxiety and was always reluctant to seek help. Lately, though I was really struggling to cope from day to day so decided to go for counselling. I made contact with James and arranged an appointment.
From the very start, James made me feel welcome and relaxed. It was the first time in a long while I actually felt understood. His ability to listen and empathise really helped me to open up on my issues. Over the coming weeks, James used various techniques to help me challenge my irrational thoughts which we're adding to my anxiety. During one of our sessions, James said something that really stuck with me. He said, "To appreciate the light, first we must learn to sit in the dark."
This helped me realise that although I may still suffer bouts of depression, they will pass.
Looking back I am so glad that I went to counselling. My sessions with James have really helped and I now feel that I am much more able to cope with life's issues.
James is a very down to earth person and a very skilled counsellor whom I'd highly recommend. Thank you so much, James.
