About Wiltshire Psychology Service

The Wiltshire Psychology Service is a Swindon-based private and independent psychology practice comprising six chartered Clinical Psychologists.

We provide psychological assessment and treatment for a variety of problems, including stress-related difficulties, depression, postnatal depression, and mood disorders. Our practice offers treatment for anxiety disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and phobias. Our psychologists provide specific therapy for eating disorders, low self-esteem, low confidence, and trauma.

Therapies offered include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

We are pleased to offer services for adults, children, adolescents and families.

We are based in Wiltshire, with offices at Brinkworth House, which is located in the village of Brinkworth, 6 miles from Junction 16 of the M4, between Swindon and Malmesbury. We also provide an office within Swindon, at Eldene Surgery.

The Wiltshire Psychology Service welcomes referrals from health care professionals as well as self-referrals. We are recognised by all of the major health insurers and can arrange a psychiatrist report if required by your health insurer.

All of our psychologists are Chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Biography:

Lynda is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Practice Director who previously worked in the NHS. Her practice was in Adult Mental Health, specialising in Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment. This means that she has a wide range of experience in mental health problems as well as with people who are looking to improve the way that they feel about themselves and the direction that their life is taking. Lynda has published work in the area of Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment.

She has experience of teaching psychological concepts to other professionals working in mental health, both in the workplace and as part of university courses; as well as experience in running skills training groups.

Jill is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Practice Director. Jill’s previous NHS practice was in a Community Mental Health Team where she was working within a multi-disciplinary team with adults with a variety of different psychological difficulties. She has also worked as a private practitioner within a GP surgery.

The combination of these two work settings (primary and secondary care) has given her experience of working with clients with a wide range of different psychological difficulties. She also has experience of developing and facilitating training workshops, and running skills training groups.

Jill practises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) amongst other therapies.

Biography:

Beth is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, specialising in working with children, young people and their families with a wide range of mental health difficulties. She has particular expertise in the management of Autistic Spectrum Disorders; the delivery of talking therapies; and carrying out Neuropsychological assessments. She has experience of developing and running therapeutic groups for young people, and support groups for parents with children on the Autistic Spectrum. She has also delivered training on therapeutic interventions and taught on a Clinical Psychology University course. She was previously employed by the NHS, in a number of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

Her range of therapeutic interventions includes: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR); and working from narrative and systemic perspectives.
