Over 20 or so years, I've attended this surgery with a whole host of conditions, some relatively minor, others, quite serious requiring long term medicines. My wife and two kids are also patients of Cumberland House Surgery. I've found all the doctors at this surgery really professional in their approach while at the same time retaining their humanity, I've heard all sorts of stories, in the press and from friends and relatives about difficulties encountered with GPs. These range from aloofness and being uncaring, to downright incompetence. I can honestly say that at my surgery my family has only encountered respect, understanding, and a high degree of medical knowledge, particularly in diagnosis and follow-up.

Fully qualified professional PWP (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner) with expertise in assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and depression.  I offer a professional friendly and  empathic approach to help you feel at ease and to understand how to manage the disorder you are currently suffering from.The following services I provide are one to one and can be conducted face to face, telephone or via skype. These interventions include ; Assessment of current anxiety or depression symptoms to determine appropriate treatment intervention.Provision of CBT based low intensity interventions for  anxiety disorders and depression.The anxiety disorders I am able to provide interventions for are GAD (general anxiety disorder), depression, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD,  phobias and problems with sleep.The clinical interventions I use are based on Cognitive behavioural self help techniques to help  modify unhelpful thinking and behaviours which maintain depression and anxiety symptoms. Some of these interventions include general anxiety and mood management, learning and applying exposure and behavioural techniques to overcome avoidance  and reduced activity. I also provide cognitive based interventions to help address and counteract negative forms of thinking which impact mood and self esteem.
