Dr. Libby Nugent is a Clinical Psychologist and Sex Therapist.

She has nine years of experience working in Social Services and the NHS. This includes for three years working concurrently as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in HIV and Sexual Health and CFS/M.E. at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. She is now offering her expertise to individuals and couples through private practice.
She works in both central London with metrotherapy and Maidstone, Kent.
Dr. Libby Nugent provides consultation, short-term and long-term psychological therapy.
Her career is rooted working in severe and enduring adult mental health services: Supporting people with experiences of mood disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, anxiety, psychosomatic illness and PTSD. She is highly skilled in psychology for adult mental health and mental wellbeing. She then went on to specialise in working with sex related issues. this includes sexual functioning, sexuality, relationships and gender identity.
She also works with people who are at risk of contracting or transmitting HIV and other STIs such as Hep C and Herpes. This includes managing depression, disclosure, and adherence to medication, cognitive impairment, and relationship stress.
Whilst her training includes skills in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic models, she has spceialised in systemic and narrative therapies, allowing for greater understanding of the complexity of each situation and increased ability in formulating and addressing potential barriers to change.
