Lavender Tan is a registered Clinical Psychologist based in Kuala Lumpur and the founder of
Lavender Psychology, a warm and approachable space designed to make therapy feel accessible and welcoming.
Her interest in psychology grew from a childhood fascination with how people from different backgrounds connect and understand one another. Having moved between cities while growing up, Lavender developed an appreciation for diverse perspectives that continues to shape her inclusive and culturally sensitive approach to therapy.
Lavender views therapy as a collaborative and creative process, helping clients understand and gently move beyond unhelpful patterns while developing practical and sustainable ways to create meaningful change in everyday life. Her clinical work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a focus on developing psychological flexibility and helping clients take meaningful action despite difficult thoughts and emotions.
She provides individual therapy for a range of concerns, including burnout, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and chronic health conditions. Her professional experience spans corporate settings, special-needs education, community mental health in rural Sri Lanka, hospitals, NGOs, and private clinical centres.
Through her work as a Clinical Director and Trainer, Lavender combines evidence-based psychological practice with an empathetic, relatable, and person-centred approach.
