Biography:

Dr Abbasian (BSc, MBBS, MSc, FRCPsych) graduated in medicine from King’s College London in 1999 and completed an MSc in Addictions in 2008. He undertook his psychiatric training at the Maudsley and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The General Medical Council recognises him as a dual specialist in General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry. He has practised psychiatry since 2000, including 23 years in the NHS. He has held academic roles, including as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s University of London, teaching medical students, junior doctors, and GPs. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and has appeared in numerous media outlets. A pioneer in digital psychiatry, Dr Abbasian works fully remotely and manages complex cases, including addictions and dual diagnosis, within multidisciplinary teams. He is also an experienced assessor for adult ADHD and autism, routinely integrating neurodiversity into his diagnostic and therapeutic approach—particularly in cases involving substance misuse and other mental health conditions.
