The clinic operates remotely, allowing suitable families across the Republic of Ireland to attend from home. Enquiries are considered before an appointment is confirmed so that the clinic can establish whether the service is appropriate for the young person's needs.

The assessment brings together developmental and medical history, a structured clinical interview, standardised rating scales, information about symptoms across settings, and clinical consideration of other explanations. It is designed to reach a reasoned clinical conclusion rather than provide a screening score alone. The purpose is diagnostic clarity. If ADHD is confirmed, the consultant discusses appropriate options with the parent or guardian and young person. Medication is one possible option and is prescribed only when clinically suitable and agreed; practical, school-based, and non-medication supports may also form part of the plan.

The written report can support a RACE application for state exam accommodations, or a DARE application for college admission. Final eligibility and accommodation decisions are made by the State Examinations Commission and DARE, not by this clinic. 

The written report and school letter are designed to be shared with your GP or school directly, so the assessment fits into the wider support your child already has, rather than replacing it.
