Biography:
Matt qualified from the University of Leeds in 2004 having studied Sports Science and Physiology and then decided to further his studies, choosing Physiotherapy at the University of Huddersfield where he qualified in 2007 with a post-graduate degree. Since then he has worked at 2 different NHS Foundation Trusts, as a physiotherapist for Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, for Private Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinics and now he works for Sano Physiotherapy Ltd at our Pudsey clinic as our clinical lead. Matt has a wealth of experience working in football and cricket and has completed post-graduate courses in spinal manipulations and acupuncture (where he is a fully qualified practitioner). He has a particular interest in assessing and treating running related injuries. He is also a member of the Medico-Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists where he is involved in report writing around medical negligence and litigation cases. He is continuing his studies to post-graduate level and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Advancing Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University. Outside work Matt is a keen cricketer where he has played in the Bradford League for several seasons and is also a keen runner.

Lucinda Burrough

Lucinda studied Biology at Newcastle University before qualifying in Physiotherapy at the University of Northumbria in 2007. Since then she has gained a wealth of experience working in the NHS in South Tyneside and Harrogate treating patients with a variety of conditions from sports injuries to postoperative orthopaedic conditions. She has attended advanced courses in Pilates and acupuncture to further aid accurate and appropriate diagnosis and treatment of complex musculoskeletal conditions. She has a particular interest in acupuncture and pain management. Out of work she enjoys running and going to the gym.

David Annison

Biography:
Originally from Sunderland, David graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science. During this time he worked as a qualified personal trainer, boasting clients from the Yorkshire based Emmerdale soap. He later studied on the Masters level Physiotherapy course at the University of Huddersfield where he qualified with Matt in 2007, and obtained HCPC, CSP, ACPSEM, and REMO certifications. David joined Dewsbury NHS Trust but soon took a senior position at Huddersfield NHS Trust whilst looking after Halifax RLFC 1st team as Head physiotherapist. During this time David supported the GB RFL Women’s World Cup squad preparation for their tour of Australia in 2008, as well International, National and Regional Rugby Football League fixtures. David was then fortunate enough to join the medical team at Sunderland Association Football Club where he progressed through the ranks over six successful seasons and five different managers. His role focused on returning players safely back to the game, with special interests in strength and conditioning, shoulder rehabilitation and evaluating player load during high intensity training/ game situations. David has worked with amateur, scholarship and pro athletes in basketball, volleyball, tennis, RFU, cycling as well as swimming and downhill skiing. He has gained experience within the NHS, Super League, Premier League, Private physiotherapy, GP practice Clinics, as well as Occupational Health work. David is currently undertaking a masters thesis as well as training to be an injection therapist . To relax, he enjoys cycling, the gym and getting out on the motorbike (when its sunny).

He has attended advanced courses in spinal manipulation and specific soft tissue mobilisation techniques to further aid accurate and appropriate diagnosis and treatment of complex musculoskeletal conditions. He has a particular interest in rugby and football related injuries.

Ammit Mistry

Ammit Studied Health Related Exercise and Fitness at Leeds Metropolitan University before qualifying as a physiotherapist at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2010. Since then he has worked in the NHS at Bradford Teaching Hospitals and at Leeds United football club treating sports related injuries. He has recently left this to work full time for Sano Physiotherapy Ltd at our Pudsey and Wakefield clinics. Ammit has acquired the majority of his experience treating neck, back, shoulder and sports injuries. He has a real interest in ‘hands on’ therapy such as trigger point release and joint mobilizations and utilises this where appropriate in his treatment sessions. Outside work, Ammit enjoys playing football and socialising with friends. He is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)

Neil Holroyd

Neil studied Physiotherapy at Leeds Met University, qualifying in 2011. Since then, Neil has been working in professional sport where he is employed by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats RLFC, with all age groups from first team down to scholarship squads. Neil started working for Sano Physiotherapy Ltd in January 2013 and currently works in the Wakefield and Heckondwike clinics. As expected from his current role with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, his main interests are sports related injuries and musculoskeletal disorders. Away from physiotherapy, Neil enjoys sports, keeping fit, cooking and music.

Josh Wheatley

Josh studied Physiotherapy at Leeds Met University where he has gained a Masters in Physiotherapy and prior to that he completed a degree in Sports Science. Since qualifying, Josh worked for a brief spell in Super League for Castleford Tigers with all age groups from first team down to scholarship squads until he joined the team at Sano Physiotherapy Ltd in April 2014 and currently works in the Pudsey, East Leeds and York clinics. As expected from his studies in Sports Science and work with Castleford Tigers, Josh's main interests are sports related injuries and musculoskeletal disorders. Away from physiotherapy, Josh enjoys going to the gym and keeping fit and is also a keen cricketer where he plays in the Bradford League.

Nicky Moore

Nicky qualified from the University of Bradford in 2010 with a first class honours degree in physiotherapy. Since then she has gained valuable experience working in the NHS in Stoke treating musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. She has completed post-graduate courses in Pilates where she specialises in matwork rehabilitation and rehabilitating horse riding related injuries and is also a fully qualified acupuncture practitioner which she has studied to post-graduate level. Outside work, Nicky is a keen horse rider and enjoys walking her dogs and running around after her baby!

Heidi Reynolds

Heidi studied health and Sports Science at the University of Huddersfield and then went on to study Physiotherapy at the same university in 2006. Since then she had secured a band 6 physiotherapist position within the NHS and also contributes to the rehabilitation and pitch side care of a local rugby union team. Heidi therefore has a special interest in sporting injuries, both acute and chronic in nature and is keen to facilitate return to function. Due to the rotational nature of her work in the NHS she also has experience of working with children and has had good results whilst looking after this special client group here at Sano.

Anderson Davis

Anderson previously worked for 19 years within Social care including West Yorkshire Probation Service. He qualified as a physiotherapist from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2006. Once he graduated Anderson spent time with Leeds Tykes working with the physiotherapy team and also as physiotherapist with Oulton Rangers a European, National and Miner league 2006 championship winning amateur Rugby League Team. Since qualifying Anderson has worked continuously in private practice, mainly treating patients with neck and back injuries. Anderson also has 6 years of experience of occupational physiotherapy working within factory settings treating and providing advice on a wide range of work related disorders. . In addition to this he has written and delivered successful back care seminars for Oasis School of Human Relations: delivered to Craven District Council Employees. Anderson works for Sano Physiotherapy at their Bradford and York clinics.
