About Balmoral Physiotherapy

Balmoral Physiotherapy Clinic is a team of professional chartered physiotherapists located South Gosforth. They provide effective physiotherapeutic treatment to help improve body function and healing, exercise, hands-on treatment and electrotherapy.  The clinic treats back and neck pain, frozen shoulder, sports injuries and arthritis to mention a few.  Each treatment session lasts 40 minutes.  At the first appointment the patient's condition will be assessed and a treatment plan created.  Weekend and evening appointments are also available.

Were you pleased with the treatment? I am more than pleased with the treatment received not only did he treat my injuries he (Kevin) took me through what the cause was and how if this was to occur again I could manage this.
Would you recommend the clinic? Without a shadow of doubt I have never expereinced a more better ran surgery where the friendliness of staff are as good as the treatment received.

Experience Maxine qualified in 1993 from North London School of Physiotherapy with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy with Human Sciences and worked in the NHS in and around London for four years, followed by a year in Blackpool. In 1998 Maxine came to Newcastle upon Tyne and joined Balmoral Physiotherapy where she became a Partner in 2001. Interests/Speciality Maxine started specialising in musculo-skeletal outpatients in 1995. She has a keen interest in the treatment of complex chronic spinal conditions. Treatment techniques incorporate 'hands-on' manipulation of joints and muscles and complimented by the use of a structured, specific exercise programme. Nicky (Nicola) qualified with a BSc Hons Degree in Physiotherapy in 1994 at the University of Westminster and St Mary’s, London. From 1994 – 2002 she worked in London NHS hospitals, specialising in musculo-skeletal conditions from 1996. From 2002-2007 she worked in a Private outpatient clinic in Edinburgh. Ellie qualified in 2004 from Keele University with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy.  She then worked within the NHS for 11 years, specialising in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic physiotherapy, gaining vast experience in Acute Rehabilitation including complex spinal surgery and trauma.

For the last 8 years she has worked as Lead Physiotherapist for a local rugby team.  In this role she oversees and provides pitch-side cover and rehabilitation clinics.  This includes assessment, diagnosis and treatment of injuries and ensures timely and appropriate 'return to play' match fitness.

Her specialist skills are:  Acupuncture, Kinesiology taping, Dry vacuum cupping massage, home visits

Ellie has a special interest in sport, exercise and general fitness and has worked at major events like the Great North Run, London Marathon and London 2012 Paralympics.  She is a keen tennis player and skier and understands the importance of physical wellbeing.

Richard graduated from Newcastle College with an FdSc in Sports Injury and Rehabilitation and a BSc in Sports Therapy.  He is also a qualified masseur.

He joined Balmoral Physiotherapy in 2014 providing sports massage therapy.

His motivation and passion is to help those with sporting injuries reach full fitness as he is well aware of the negative impact sporting injuries can have on an individual both physically and psychologically.
Health and Exercise, as well as Sport and Rehabilitation are his personal passions, and he aims to use his skills and knowledge to benefit others.  Richard enjoys treating clients whether it be those suffering from sporting injuries or just muscular aches as a result of lifestyle.

His hobbies include keeping fit, cycling and swimming.

Emma qualified as a Physiotherapist with an MSc in Physiotherapy from Northumbria University in 2010 following completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Biomedicine.

She joined Balmoral Physiotherapy in 2014.

Emma has experience of working both within the NHS and Private sector and currently works in the NHS at Northumbria Health care Trust.  She specialises in the treatment of both acute and chronic musculo-skeletal disorders and is trained in the provision of acupuncture.

 

Emma is an enthusiastic cyclist and has a keen interest in Sport and Exercise. She has experience of working with ladies and girls rugby teams at County level.

Sayuri holds a BSc (Hons) in Health and Wellbeing from

and is a member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA). She has worked in a variety of public and private sector environments both as practitioner and trainer for seven years, before joining Balmoral Physiotherapy.

Sayuri’s special interests are tension, aches & stiffness; emotional pains; stress related problems and digestive complaints.

She uses acupressure points and Myofascial Techniques (Trigger Point Therapy) combined with techniques from Shiatsu and Thai traditional massage and breathing techniques. She also provides guidance on aftercare and self-massage.
