About Physio Glasgow

The Glasgow Caledonian University at Cowcaddens Road, Glasgow is the location of this physiotherapy clinic where a wide range of painful musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and sports injuries are treated by an expert and experienced team of chartered physiotherapists. The team also runs workshops and courses and help in the professional development of other physiotherapists. An initial assessment lasting for 45 minutes is scheduled, the condition of the patient assessed and a treatment plan formulated. Treatments are performed in 30 minute sessions. Services include manual physiotherapy, acupuncture and advice on how patients can prevent recurrence of the condition or injury.

Biography:

Patrice Berque is a Chartered Physiotherapist, member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). He trained and qualified at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2001 with a BSc (Hons). He still works part-time in one of the Glasgow NHS hospitals as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. His clinical interest lies in the field of musculoskeletal disorders and he is a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). He also practises acupuncture, and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

He has completed several postgraduate courses in the musculoskeletal field: Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, Acupuncture, Muscle Balance and Motor Control Retraining. He is presently enrolled in a Masters Programme (MSc) run jointly by Glasgow Caledonian University and the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).

He is also involved in research in the field of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, and has had publications in "Medical Problems of Performing Artists" (USA), "Médecine des Arts" (France), and "Physiotherapy" (UK).

He has a special interest in the field of Performing Arts Medicine, and runs clinics in Glasgow for the management of playing-related musculoskeletal disorders affecting performing artists and musicians.
