Jenny Doughty

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
Having been involved with the Health and Fitness industry for the last ten years, my understanding and knowledge of how the body functions and its incredible ability to adapt to its environment in both a positive and negative manner, have spiralled into a passion. The knowledge I gained in my Sports Science and Biology degree kept my desire for learning alive, leading to my qualification as a Sports Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer and Nutritional Adviser. During my time as Petersfield Rugby Club's Sports Massage Therapist, I began running my own clinic. I was responsible for the treatment and management of players' injuries, rehabilitation, prehabilitation, nutrition and pitch-side first aid. My emphasis was looking at the whole player or client, ensuring they returned fully fit from their injury, and in many cases stronger and fitter than they were before. As a Nutritional Adviser, I work with clients to improve their general nutrition, including weight loss or gain through a thorough understanding of the food they eat, the way their bodies react and their eating patterns. I have worked with a wide range of clients from beginners to athletes, and my aim is to find the source of the client's problem, whether it is an injury, postural issue, muscle imbalance or weakness, a flexibility or mobility issue, or even related to another area of the body. So let me help you to get the best out of your life and your own body.

Jenine Nugent

Biography:
Sports Massage and Remedial Therapist. I am a keen sportswoman and have a particular interest in netball and athletics. My passion for sport led me to achieve awards for the county in athletics and to play netball for one of the top 21 teams in the country, competing at District, County and National Level. I qualified as a Sports Massage and Remedial Therapist gaining a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport & Remedial Massage Therapy, receiving exemplary grades from the London School of Sports Massage. I am a fully accredited and insured member of the Sports Massage Association and Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage. I have worked with the senior squad at London Irish RFC and for professional cycling team Garmin-Sharp as a Soft Tissue Therapist. I currently work at Basingstoke RFC as the Sports Massage Team Leader and carry out a supervisory role to two qualified therapists. I also work for Physical Project, a multi-disciplinary team working overseas at high profile cycling events. I have worked at numerous UK events including the London Marathon, Endure 24, Bournemouth Sevens and the Fleet Half Marathon. Through my own personal experiences, I am very aware of how effective advanced remedial treatments are following a sports injury and for general aches and pains. I can relate to the frustrations of not being able to compete due to pain and understand the need to return to activity after injury. Consequently, I have an exceptional drive to provide accurate assessments, successful treatments and offer appropriate advice to ensure individuals return to full fitness and function as safely and quickly as possible.

Ashley Fowler

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
I successfully completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire and have since developed a varied skillset and have vast experience working for both the NHS and private sector throughout the UK. My interest in physiotherapy stems from my passion in caring for others and my fascination for the workings of the human body. My particular interests include dealing with spinal problems, including overuse, traumatic and congenital issues. I feel it is particularly vital in this day and age to maintain good health through a balanced diet, regular exercise and a positive mind-set. Personally I have a great love for running and lifting weights as I find these help me to focus and are a great way to release stress and bodily tension. I try to be as holistic and open minded as possible in my practice, by incorporating an array of treatment techniques from different disciplines and different parts of the world in accordance with current best evidence. I am qualified to perform acupuncture, spinal and peripheral mobilisation/ manipulation, soft tissue techniques – including massage, trigger point and myofascial release, muscle energy techniques and various methods of taping. As well as the following I am skilled in administering various modes of electrotherapy including: therapeutic ultrasound and T.E.N.S. My main aims are to always remain patient centred with a focus on achieving your personal goals. I am also a firm believer in prevention over cure and therefore incorporate sound advice and specific exercises to help prevent future relapses in your symptoms. I have a good understanding from personal experience of how frustrating it can be when you are unable to perform day-to-day tasks or are unable to return to your usual exercise regime.
