All aspects of musculoskeletal physiotherapy are addressed by the expert team at this clinic located at Cardiff in Wales. Late evening and Saturday appointments are scheduled for the convenience of busy patients by the professional team. All services are personalized according to the unique requirements of each individual patient. Male and female chartered physiotherapists treat patients at the clinic and the clinic is recognized by all major health insurance providers. James Walker

James qualified from Sheffield Hallam University in 2009 and went on to complete his junior rotations in the NHS before specialising in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy. James worked for 2 years in both the NHS and the private sector in as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. During this time he also worked as a physiotherapist for a rugby union team and for a rugby league team. James has a keen interest in sports injuries .He has completed post graduate courses in strapping and taping and is working towards a bronze award with the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports medicine. Most recently James has worked in the French ski resort of Meribel where he spent the winter ski season working in a private practice treating ski related injuries. He now lives in Cardiff and leads an active lifestyle , playing football, squash, swims and climbs on a weekly basis.

Simon Graduated from Cardiff University in 2006 with a Bsc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy. He has worked in the Princess of Wales hospital Bridgend since graduating and has specialised in Muskeloskeletal Physiotherapy since 2008. Simon joined the team at Recovery and Beyond Physiotherapy early in 2012 and combines his role here as senior Physiotherapist with his NHS work. Simon has gained a well respected certificate in Orthopaedic manual therapy from Curtin University ,Perth ,Australia . He is also a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists meaning that he is fully qualified to provide accupuncture as part of your treatment. He has a particular interest in sports rehabilitation, having played rugby himself at a semi–professional level, Simon is also a current member of Dragon Crossfit in Cardiff. He also likes to ski and snowboard and is responsible for our ski fit classes as well as our pre ski assessments .

Lucy qualified in 1999with a Bsc ( Hons ) in Physiotherapy from Birmingham university . She Initially worked at a busy NHS teaching hospital in Birmingham where she specialised in muskeloskeletal problems. Lucy moved into the private sector in 2002 where she became a senior muskeloskeletal physiotherapist at a private hospital responsible for the running of numerous clinics at BMI Edgbaston and Priory hospital as well as maintaining the training and clinical standards of the departments. Lucy has treated a range of athletes from amateur to professional clients in a vast range of sports from rugby and hockey to dancers. She worked for England hockey for many years , treating both male and female athletes and has travelled to many countries covering tournaments. Lucy also has a vast knowledge of dance injuries in particular ballet as she was responsible for the care of Elmhurst ballet school where she treated students ranging in age from 11 years to age 20 before they moved on to professional dance companies. Lucy also has a diploma in orthopaedic medicine and a qualification in Accupuncture . Since working at Recovery and Beyond Physiotherapy she has become a certified clinical pilates instructor registered with the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates instructors (APPI ) . Lucy has a keen interest in core control and Pilates and is responsible for teaching our APPI Pilates classes here at the clinic.

Osian qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1999 from the University of Wales Cardiff gaining a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy . He then consolidated his clinical practice at the university hospital of wales before working privately at St Joseph’s hospital , Newport where he joined the outpatient musculoskeletal team working closely within a team of orthopaedic surgeons and Physiotherapists. Osian then moved on to work in a busy private practice predominantly treating sports and spinal injuries before opening Recovery and Beyond Physiotherapy in 2006 treating everyday conditions to international sportspeople. As well as expertise in the clinical setting Osian also has a wealth of experience within elite sport, he was the head physiotherapist for the Celtic Crusaders rugby league for a number of years responsible for professional players care both on and off the pitch , as well as bring welsh rugby league head physiotherapist. He currently consults for the welsh institute of sport working with elite athletes, most recently with GB under 23 men’s rowing. Osian has a special interest in sports injury and sports performance being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA and a member of the Association of chartered physiotherapists in sports medicine. He also has a specialist interest and is very experienced in treating complex and non-responding musculoskeletal conditions using a combination of manual therapy , movement analysis , and strength and conditioning. For this he is very sought after and regularly receives such referrals from surgeons and sports physicians.
