I have been seeing a chiropodist at Ocean Health for several years. On Monday I rang to make an appointment and was given 9.10 this morning (Thursday) I arrived at 9.05 and sat in the waiting room until 9.35 when Andrew came out of the room with a patient.
He looked at me but didn't speak. I gave him my name and said my appointment was for 9.10. He said 'you're not on the list' and closed the door. They were the only words he said. no apology and no offer to rearrange. My husband had arrived to pick me up by this time, expecting me to be almost ready. He was as staggered as I was at Andrew's rudeness.
I rang this afternoon to check if I'd made a mistake. The receptionist checked and didn't have any appointment down for me at all, although she had gone through all my details with me when I rang on Monday. If there was a receptionist on duty mornings, at least I would have been told on arrival that I was not booked in and would not have wasted half an hour waiting for nothing.
Since writing the above I have had an appointment with Maria who has restored my faith in Ocean Health. She did an excellent job and is very friendly, as is the receptionist.
