Iain Getty, our Practice Principal, formed the practice back in 1992 and has seen the clinic grow into Lisburn’s leading physiotherapy practice. We have five physiotherapists in total with over 55 years of clinical experience. We treat a wide range of people, from elite sports men and women to office or manual workers with back pain.

Claire graduated from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle- Upon Tyne with a first class honours degree. After working briefly in the NHS, she moved to the Ministry of Defence where she helped rehabilitate injured servicemen and women to operational duty. Claire moved to Lisburn Physio in October 2013. Claire has worked with Ulster Hockey and is physiotherapist to Lisnagarvey Hockey Club Mens 1st XI. She has a passion for high end functional and sports specific rehabilitation. Laurene graduated from Northumbria University, Newcastle in 2008 with a 1st class honours degree. After working in the NHS for 3 years she entered the private world and commenced practice with Lisburn Physiotherapy in November 2011. Committed to continuing professional development and furthering her skills Laurene has undergone extensive postgraduate training. She has trained in the innovative and specialised physiotherapy technique for back pain, “The Sarah Key Method”, and more recently has spent several months becoming the first physio in Northern Ireland to be a fully qualified practitioner of “The Emmett Technique”. As well as being a registered acupuncturist with the AACP she has also completed a diploma in sports massage, courses in kinesio taping, myofascial release and the Cyriax method. Having a keen interest in rugby, Laurene has also worked extensively with Omagh Rugby Club and Belfast Harlequins. From this she has developed a passion for treating acute sports injuries and aiding athletes in recovering ASAP!

David graduated from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown in 2010, and started working within the NHS. He specialised in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic injuries whilst also providing physiotherapy services to Ballymena Rugby Club. David joined the team at Lisburn Physio in March 2013 and enjoys treating patients from all backgrounds using a variety of treatment techniques, with a particular interest in rehabilitating patients’ to the highest level, and getting them back to work or their sport quickly. David has postgraduate training in Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Pilates, Emmett Technique, Shoulder Rehabilitation, Kinesio Taping, Bike Fit, Running Analysis and Myofascial Release and Rehabilitation.
