I started my career working with the Cavan Gaa team during their Mckenna Cup campaign in 2007 here I provided pre and post massage for players. I was also water carrier for them during games.
?
During 2007 I also spent time working at Drogheda United over a 3 month period I worked with club Phyiso Albert Byrne providing treatment at training sessions on a daily basis to all first team players. This ranged from massage to strapping to overseeing fitness programs of players.
?
Following on from my work with Drogheda United later that year I joined the backroom staff of Tony McCarthy at Shelbourne Fc. Here I spent a season working with their U21 team providing match day and training treatment for all the u21 players and some first team players.
?
In 2008 Tony and I left Shelbourne for Bohemians Fc and it was here were I spent one of most successful in football. I took charge of all treatment for the Bohemians A/reserve following on from this I also looked after the Boehemians u20 team. I spent almost two years at the club where both sides reached the final of their respective competitions and the senior side went on to win the LOI. The u20 side was a very successful side producing players like Paddy Madden (Yevoil Town), Philly Hand ( Drogheda United) and Kevin Daweson ( Shelbourne Fc). All of these players went on to play senior football in Ireland and in the UK and also represent Ireland at u19 level.
?
After spending two years at Bohemians I decided to move to England to complete my degree. It was here where I took up work experience at MK Dons academy for 2 years. Here I worked 3 days a week at the training ground and on match days with players aging from 9-16 years of age. My responsibility here was to provide rehabilitation programs for injured players a long with match day care of all players. While in the UK I also worked with the University of Bedfordshire mens and womens rugby teams as well as working at the renowned Julie Daas clinic.
?
My experience is not just limited to football or rugby I have also worked in cycling. For three years I have worked as team masseuse and medic for the Leinster Cycling team for the Junior Tour of Ireland in Castlebar Co Mayo. This is an event which attracts teams for all over the world and is not limited to just Ireland and UK competitors.
