I will definitely be recommendingMichael, Ireland, 14 02 24

I was in a lot of pain with neck and shoulder muscle spasms. A combination of physio, dry needle and exercise I was given to do at home, sorted out my problem. I will definitely be recommending Total Physio and the young lady Melanie, to my friends.

Could not recommend killtipper enoughDavid, Ireland, 08 05 20

Superb treatment from very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had two strokes and was told my arm would not get much better by hospital staff but within 3 or 4 appointments I had much better movement in it. This continued the more I went due to great motivation and home programme's form the physios. Could not recommend killtipper enough, even if you have been told by doctors that you can't get better.

Sports Therapy
Sports rehabilitation is a physiotherapy approach to treat injuries sustained through athletic activity so the athlete can regain normal pain-free mobility. Our team consists of highly trained professionals who work with both professionals and amateurs. The primary goal of our physiotherapists is to return you to pre-injury activities. Sports rehab often involves a stretching and exercise routine. Stretching assists the muscles shortened by injury or pain to regain its normal length to optimize pain-free motion. Exercise routines encompass strength, endurance, flexibility and balance to improve performance. Our sports rehabilitation begins with the treatment of the acute injury and follows you through every step of recovery from pain relief to optimizing muscle length to returning to pre-injury performance to injury prevention. Sports rehabilitation is a comprehensive rehab program that focuses on pain-free, effective, sports-specific motion.

Everything explained in terms I understood and even insightfulSharon, dublin, 06 02 23

Initial consultation free, thorough collaborative chat and felt very at ease throughout. Had deep tissue laser therapy for post fusion surgery. Everything explained in terms I understood and even insightful. Scheduled plan (package deal of 6 sessions was very affordable comparing on google Dublin) flexible appointments & app: reminders. Excellent outcome for me (decrease in pain, mobility loosening). Have other longstanding issues that would benefit from John's input.John kinda gives you insight into the psychology/physical/pain perception /science of injury/issues (also with links) just helps to understand my own history with back problems. I felt very comfortable, confident and motivated as the treatment went on. He genuinely was interested in my well-being, encouraging me. I never felt rushed. He's funny and caring at the same time. I most definitely will go back with a separate issue.

Back Pain
Dry Needling involves multiple advances of a filament needle into the muscle in the region of a “Trigger Point’. The aim of Dry Needling is to achieve a local twitch response to release muscle tension and pain. Dry needling is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin with very few side effects. This technique is unequaled in finding and eliminating neuromuscular dysfunction that leads to pain and functional deficits. The needle used is very thin and most subjects do not even feel it penetrate the skin. A healthy muscle feels very little discomfort with insertion of this needle. However if the muscle is sensitive and shortened or has active trigger points within it, the subject will feel a sensation like a muscle cramp -‘the twitch response’. The patient also may feel a reproduction of “their” pain which is a helpful diagnostic indicator for the practitioner attempting to diagnose the cause of the patients symptoms. Patients soon learn to recognize and even welcome this sensation as it results in deactivating the trigger point, reducing pain and restoring normal length function to the involved muscle.
