Jean is the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Neuromusculoskeletal care in Blackrock Clinic. Jean graduated from Coventry University in 1996, with honours and received higher diploma in Manual Therapy (manipulation) and was awarded a Research Award by the Manipulation Association and Chartered Physiotherapists in 2006. Jean completed a Masters in Physiotherapy from Cardiff University in 2011. Jean has worked exclusively in Neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy for the past fourteen years. Jean has extensive experience working the both the National Health Services, Private setting and Sports injury clinics. Jean later worked in a senior role Hampshire UK, setting up and running a staff rapid access and Back Triage service. Jean has worked as a Lecturer in Southampton University and currently supervises University College Dublin MSc students. Jean enjoyed gaining sports experience with Leicester Rugby & Football teams. Jean has the professional qualification to practice Acupuncture and Deep Dry Needling. Jean enjoys the challenge of ‘undiagnosed’ or persistent chronic conditions such as Back pain and tennis elbow. Jean’s area of interest is Neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy especially pelvic girdle pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, lumbopelvic dysfunction including use of Realtime ultrasound imaging. Jean has developed this interest and is presently running the Back Triage service at Blackrock Clinic aimed at early diagnostic triage to determine appropriate efficient management of the patients’ back pain in conjunction with orthopaedic and neurosurgery consultants.

Aileen is a Senior Physiotherapist in neuromusculoskeletal care in the Blackrock Clinic.  Aileen qualified with a BSc Honours degree in physiotherapy from the University of Ulster in Belfast.  Aileen gained five years experience in the National Health Service in London.  After completing a postgraduate diploma in Sports Physiotherapy she set up and provided the physiotherapy service for Richmond Rugby Football Club for three years.  Aileen subsequently became Head Physiotherapist to the Royal Ballet Company where she worked for seven years developing all aspects of medical care for professional dancers.

After completing a Masters in Manipulative Therapy at Coventry University in 1998 and returned to the NHS to work as an extended scope practitioner in orthopaedics.  Aileen has worked in private practice in both the UK & Ireland.  Aileen specialist areas are Sports Injuries and performing arts.  Aileen has extensive clinical experience and an academic interest in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Hons) MISCP Emer is a Senior Physiotherapist in Neuromusculoskeletal care in the Blackrock Clinic. Emer graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in physiotherapy in 1993. After working for a number of years in the USA specialising in sports therapy and neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation. Emer completed her rotational experience in St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. Emer then worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in an orthopaedic Hospital in Sydney, Australia, for a year before joining the team in Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown for seven years. Emer worked as a Senior Orthopaedic Physiotherapist specialising in the treatment of trauma and fractures. She established a hand therapy service within the Physiotherapy Department. Emer’s areas of speciality include the treatment of upper and lower limb fractures, sports and soft tissue injuries, orthotic prescription and hand therapy. Emer is also involved in patient Manual Handling training. Emer joined Blackrock Clinic in 2008.
