DK Orthotics & Injury Clinic was established in 2006 and became part of the team within Base2Race in 2010.
Injury Assessment – Full history, postural assessment, functional and special tests.
Biomechanical Analysis - pressure plate and functional video analysis using a specialised treadmill.
Orthotic Insoles – depending on injury history and biomechanical analysis, can determine whether orthotic insoles are the right solution.
Shockwave Therapy – Radial shockwave therapy treats chronic conditions, mainly dealing with tendons, ligaments, bursa and joint problems.
Dry needling – The use of acupuncture needles to help alleviate muscular spasms and/or trigger points aiming to restore muscular function through neuromuscular retraining patterns.
Sports Massage – Deep tissue massage for maintenance to keep injury free, pre and post event.
Darren Kelly qualified with higher honours BSc degree in Sports Therapy & Biomechanical specialist from University of Bedfordshire, London in 2006. He gained alot of experience from working closely with orthopaedic surgeons and being able to scrub as a surgical assistant from 2006-2009 whilst running the injury clinic.
