Mrs Helene Knox

Biography:
Helene graduated from her Osteopathy and Chiropractic studies, Sydney, in 1974. She soon opened a private clinic in Rose Bay, then at Edgecliff Road and then in North Bondi, Sydney, before relocating to Perth in January 1981. During Helene’s time in Sydney, she lectured in Correlative Clinical Neurology and Differential Diagnosis. Helene has lectured similar subjects to practitioners looking to sit their Board exams in Queensland and South Australia. Helene compiled a student clinical neurology guide and text book during this time. Helene was awarded the Knox Medal in perpetuity by Macquarie University in Sydney 1982 for contribution to the profession. Upon moving to Perth, Helene opened a clinic in Dalkeith, 1981. She conducted seminars for practitioners in differential diagnosis and medical jurisprudence between 1982 and 1984 and sat on the WA Osteopathy Board between 1990 and 1995. In 2010 Helene sold her clinic in Dalkeith to work with Arran and his team at Maylands Physiotherapy.

Ms Karren Mills

Biography:
Karen came on board with Maylands Physiotherapy in 2009, specialising in Physiotherapy and Pilates. Area of expertise include Real Time Ultrasound Imaging for core stability and pelvic floor retraining and Muscle Energy Technique for joint realignment. Complementing these treatments is Karen’s advanced training in Anatomical Acupuncture (Dry Needling) for muscle release. Karen completed a Bachelor of Science (Exercise & Health Science) at UWA in 2005, and completed a masters degree with Curtin University in 2009 (Graduate Entry Masters Program). Karen is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Australian Pilates Method Association and is currently finalising her Level 2 Pilates Instructor course. “My other personal interests include basketball twice a week and I am an avid Eagles supporter (but will go for Dockers over any Victorian team). I also enjoy helping out at the Bassendean Amateur Football Club where I spent a year as the head trainer in 2007

Mr Arran Mc Diven

Biography:
Proprietor and a practising physiotherapist at Maylands Physiotherapy, Arran McDiven is keenly focussed on holistic musculoskeletal treatment. Arran is proud of his competent, multi-skilled team; a team he has been building since taking ownership of the clinic, formerly known as Move Well Physiotherapy Maylands, in 2006. This followed five years of working under the supervision of Felicity Kermode (M. Manipulation and M. Sports) at Move Well and a number of years managing Move Well clinics in Perth. It was in 2006 that Arran became interested in a unified approach towards musculoskeletal treatment including Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Chinese Acupuncture, genuine Remedial Massage and Clinical Pilates. Arran holds a Bachelor of Science (Anatomy/Physiology) from UWA, and a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) from Curtin University. He has completed extensive postgraduate course-work over the past decade or so, including Muscle Energy Technique and Anatomical Acupuncture (Dry Needling). “I have a real passion for sports physiotherapy whilst fundamentally aiming to excel in the treatment of all conditions seen in private practice physiotherapy. Certainly I have always had an interest - and have developed extensive experience - in the management of chronic pain conditions. I am a big believer in giving back to the community, we're proud sponsors of the Joondanna Blues Football Club.”
