Ms Kathryn Anderson

Biography:
She completed her Masters of Physiotherapy (Manual Therapy) at the University of Western Australia. Kathryn gained her bachelor degree with honours from The University of Melbourne. Since then, she has worked extensively in private practice, both in Australia and the United Kingdom. She spent three years at the prestigious Fulham Physiotherapy clinic in London, specialising in conditions such as sports injuries (particularlarly distance runners), spinal injuries, pregnancy and Pilates, which she has lectured on to her peers for the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. Kathryn has been recognised by TAC and Worksafe as an Occupational Physiotherapy Provider which means she is committed to returning injured people back to work. Kathryn was the recipient of the Karim Khan prize for Rehabilitation Science from the University of Western Australia.

Mr Bede Christey

Biography:
Joined the Viva Physiotherapy Melbourne team a few years ago after jumping the ditch from Auckland, NZ. Originally from Christchurch, Bede spent almost 10 years studying & working in Auckland, and completed his Post Graduate diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2007. Bede has a keen interest in sports physiotherapy, and is the current physiotherapist for the Essendon Bombers VFL side of 2013 – attending trainings at Windy Hill Stadium three nights per week. Bede was the physiotherapist for the Essendon Bombers VFL side in 2012, and has worked with a number of Premier Club rugby and soccer teams in Auckland. Bede also has post-grad qualifications in dry needling. Bede is also particularly interested in spinal injuries, and enjoys using his manual therapy skills. He enjoys running regularly, as well as hiking/camping around Victoria. He is also enjoying all the good food, coffee & live music that Melbourne has to offer!

Ms Fiona Samuel

Biography:
Graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science before moving to sunny Perth where she completed a Master of Physiotherapy at Curtin University. She worked in a large public hospital in Perth prior to returning to Melbourne in 2010, transitioning to private practice and teaching Clinical Pilates and then went on to run a dedicated Pilates studio back in Melbourne. As a result, we are very lucky here at Viva Physiotherapy to have Fiona’s Pilates expertise. As well as Clinical Pilates, Fiona is also interested in sports injury rehabilitation and pre- and post-natal (pregnancy) physiotherapy Pilates. Fiona is also recognised by Worksafe and TAC as an Occupational Physiotherapist. Since 2012, Fiona has become a lead presenter for matwork courses for the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. Fiona enjoys playing netball, swimming and being creative with her photography.
