Mr Ben Waldock

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
He graduated from the University of Otago (NZ) in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy and completed a Masters Level Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Auckland University of Technology in 2006. He has worked and managed sports injury clinics in Auckland and the United Kingdom as well working with the Marist North Harbour Rugby Club, New Zealand Woman’s Basketball and New Zealand Women’s Rugby teams. Ben has always had an interest in running injuries, which provided the foundation for his interest in lower limb and running based injuries and treadmill gait analysis. Having treated so many marathon runners, took the plunge himself and began marathon running for charity. He feels this now means he can fully understand what runners go through when suffering injuries both physically and psychologically (Yes runners are definitely a different breed of individual!). Ben has a strong manual therapy focus predominately using a ‘hands on’ approach in combination with biomechanical analysis, exercise prescription and dry needling to get the desired outcomes for his patients.

Ms Laura Stafford

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Biography:
Graduated from Sydney University in 2004. She spent her graduating year working in the Illawarra region gaining experience in the hospital setting. She then moved on to St George Hospital where a more specialised interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy developed. Laura worked in outpatients, hydrotherapy and then became senior in orthopaedics. She then decided to take this experience over to the UK where she worked as a physiotherapist for two years. Once back in Australia Laura worked at private practices in Sydney before joining the team at St George Physio in 2011. Laura has completed extensive post graduate studies including Sports Physiotherapy level one and sports taping courses. Laura has a strong interest in movement and control stemming from her Classical Ballet background. This led to further professional development in her main areas of interest-the spine, pelvis and hip as well as dancing injuries and rehabilitation. Laura is one of our Physiotherapists trained in Pilates through DMA Clinical Pilates. She is particularly passionate about applying exercise-based physiotherapy to assist patients in returning to function after injury, acute or chronic. Whether you’re a teenage dancer or a retired golfer, be assured of a thorough assessment and Pilates-based exercise program tailored to your needs.
