Mr Damian Benson

Biography:
Damien, our principal pracitioner is one of only a handful of fully credentialed Active Release Technique (ART) providers in Australia, certified in full body (upper, lower and spine), nerve entrapment and masters level. Damien is a graduate of Macquarie University with a Science Degree majoring in Anatomy and Physiology and also a Masters Degree in Chiropractic Science. He has further post-graduate studies and accreditation in, Active Release Techniques ART Dry needling (advanced level) Western acupuncture (advanced level) Spinal diagnosis Headache and migraine management Strength and conditioning training Core, shoulder and sport specific rehabilitation Kinesio Taping (instructor level) Selective Functional Movement Assessment Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation WorkCover accreditation As an avid cyclist and having been involved in triathlons, Damien understands that pain and injuries are common amongst athletes. Damien’s expertise lies within lower limb sporting injuries and corrective exercise therapy. He has worked extensively with various athletes from Olympic level track & field, NRL footballers and Ironman triathletes. Alongside his sporting interests, Damien’s experience has lead him to specialise in workplace injuries and occupational health and safety. Currently, Damien is the injury management consultant for Linfox Australia and Costa Logistics. Damien is a member of, Chiropractic and Osteopathic Association of Australia Sports Chiropractic Australia

Miss Leigh Perry

Biography:
Leigh has completed a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a postgraduate degree in Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University. She has focused primarily on injuries of the spine, sporting injuries and rehabilitative care. Leigh has completed post-graduate studies in, Active Release Technique ART Dry needling (advanced level) Western acupuncture (advanced level) Spinal Diagnosis Headache and migraine management Pediatrics Helping children with learning difficulties and behavioural problems Selective Functional Movement Assessment Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation WorkCover accreditation Leigh uses a multidisciplinary approach to treating muscular and spinal injuries, by utilising techniques such as soft tissue therapy and dry needling she understands that the presenting complaint is often a symptom of an underlying muscular imbalance and therefore tailors her treatment to each patient’s individual needs. Leigh has a keen interest in women’s health and pediatrics, especially children with behavioral and learning difficulties. Leigh is an active member of, Chiropractic Association of Australia Australian Spinal Research Foundation

Miss Tai-Lei Benson

Biography:
Tai-Lei has graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology and from Macquarie University with a Masters of Chiropractic. She has a keen interest in sports, and in particular dancing and gymnastic injuries. Tai-Lei is classically trained in Ballet (RAD) and has completed her major ballet examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance. Tai-Lei has been Irish dancing for over 15 years and has competed in many overseas competitions, including the World Irish Dancing Championships in Scotland, the North American Irish Dancing Championships and the New Zealand International Irish Dancing Championships. Due to her heavy involvement with dancing, Tai-Lei understands the demands that are placed on a dancer’s body and how best to approach rehabilitation for a fast return to training. Tai-Lei is trained in core-strengthening (physiotherapy-based) Pilates and conducts weekly classes at our practice. Her classes focus primarily on the correct activation of the core, as well as the pelvic floor and lower back muscles. Alongside private practice, Tai-Lei is the injury management provider for Linfox, Larapinta in Queensland. Tai-Lei has completed post graduate studies and accreditation in: Dry needling Pilates core-strengthening Spinal Diagnosis Lower limb rehabilitation Lumbar Spine and Pelvis Management WorkCover accreditation Tai-Lei is an active member of: Chiropractic Association of Australia Australian Spinal Research Foundation
