About Huddersfield Clinic

Two clinics in West Yorkshire are run by this osteopathy practice, one in Halifax and the other in Huddersfield. All the osteopaths at the clinics are registered with the General Osteopathic Council. David Sykes

Biography:
Huddersfield born David qualified from the British School of Osteopathy (London) in 1988 and joined Kim Burton at the Huddersfield clinic which he and his wife later took over in 1997. He also set up the Halifax clinic in 1990. His specific clinical interests are neck pain, intervertebral disc injuries, low back pain, sports, motorcycle and general motorsports injuries. David has been involved in research at Huddersfield University and from 1989 to 2007 has been Research Officer and Council member of the British Osteopathic Association. He is married to Agi and they have two children, he has an active interest in motorsport and currently is involved in sprint/hillclimb racing. He is very well placed to discuss your car seating!

Agi Sykes

Biography:
Agi qualified from the British School of Osteopathy (London) in 1991, where she was an active member of the pregnancy and sports injury clinics. These are specific clinical interests that she has nurtured over the years. Her other special interest is the treatment of Lymphoedema for which she is ‘Leduc’ trained (and currently is the only osteopath in the UK who is!). See - Agi Sykes Lymphoedema Clinic Agi has also been an elected council member of the British Osteopathic Association and amongst other duties was the editor of the Association newsletter from 2002 - 2007. She is married to David and they have two children.

Tim McClune

Biography:
Tim qualified from the British School of Osteopathy (London) in 1989. He practised in a sports medicine clinic initially, and has been in Huddersfield since 1993. His specific clinical interests are whiplash related injuries, intervertebral disc injuries and low back pain. Tim has been involved in research at Huddersfield University over the last 13 years, publishing in medical journals, specific topics; adolescent back pain, spinal manipulation for back pain, whiplash treatment and patient education. He is a member of the National Council for Osteopathic Research (NCOR), which oversees and supports research in osteopathy. He has also recently been elected onto the General Osteopathic Council, the Government body that regulates the osteopathic profession. Tim is at present working part-time for a PhD degree looking at the social and political influences on osteopathy. He is married to Kathy and they have three children, he tries to keep fit by running and climbing.
