Osteopathy

£40 - £65

Osteopath Consultation

To an osteopath, for your body to work well, its structure must also work well. So osteopaths work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery. Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

Massage Therapy

£40 - £65

Massage

The main purpose of sports massage is to help alleviate stress and tension which builds up in the body's soft tissues, this can be sports related or from simple day to day activities. When an injury occurs the body often reacts by tensing the soft tissues surrounding the area, massage can work quickly and effectively to reduce this. It can also be helpful in preventing 'niggling' injuries which can hamper performance.

Sports massage tends to be a deeper more intense massage, combining a variety of techniques including stretching, friction and trigger point release. With sports massage it's especially important to have a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. By understanding these systems and the effects of exercise, we are able to develop a clearer picture of why the individual may be suffering in particular areas, which allows us to tailor our massage treatment.

Acupuncture

£40 - £65

Acupuncturist Consultation

Non-traditional acupuncture or medical dry needling reinterprets the traditional apparatus of "meridians" and "points" and is based on the modern understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. In many cases dry needling is used on "trigger points" in muscles, these are tender points within muscles which cause pain when pressed and radiate pain to other areas. Needling the trigger points can relieve pain in these distant areas.
