He qualified in 1983 and taught undergraduates at the BSO as a senior lecturer from 1988 until 2009. In 1998 he published a major textbook on osteopathic diagnosis, aimed at both graduates and student osteopaths, which has been well received by the profession. He also taught students about aspects of osteopathic care of patients with heart, circulation, lung and endocrine problems. In 1996 he was invited to work as a private practitioner at Collingham Medical Centre, expanding the therapeutic options available there. Since 2006 he has also had a contract with the NHS, enabling him to provide osteopathic treatment to sufferers of low back pain funded by the NHS, a service which has grown steadily. He has a special interest in the care of patients with respiratory problems, and also those with chronic pain, especially chronic spinal pain.
