Miss Linda Canning
Biography:
Linda has always had an interest in how the human body functions; the way it develops during childhood, how it can adapt to the stresses and strains placed upon it during every-day life from the jobs we do, the sports we play and the mechanical changes through pregnancy.
It’s quite amazing the changes that occur throughout pregnancy; the spine adapts to huge changes in a short space of time which can cause discomfort, most commonly in the lower back and pelvis. Osteopathy can help aid these changes and give great relief to expectant mothers. Linda also thoroughly enjoys treating babies and infants. Gentle movements and ‘cranial’ techniques are used to help relax babies which in turn can help unsettled babies.
Linda uses an array of techniques to help support the body’s ability to heal and speed up recovery. Massage, mobilisations and manipulations help to restore function back to the body, reducing tension, aiding lymphatic drainage, reducing inflammation and therefore pain. She is also qualified in Medical Acupuncture, which can also be very powerful in reducing pain. Linda’s treatments are tailored to the individual and she also gives advice on exercise to rehabilitate and improve performance.
