About The Ashcroft Practice

The Ashcroft Practice for Natural Health has a team of therapists who offer a wide array of treatments for people of all ages. The Osteopaths at the facility diagnose and treat problems related to muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints to help the body’s natural healing ability. Their methods are gentle and effective to ease pain, reduce swelling and improve mobility without any drugs. They also provide Shiatsu therapy which uses a combination of therapeutic touch, holding, and gentle stretching techniques. Also available is Thai Yoga Massage which makes use of gentle stretching and manipulation of the joints to increase flexibility. The facility is registered with many private medical insurance companies such as BUPA and PPP and more.

Dr Meg McDonald

Job Title:
Graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1992. She founded the Ashcroft Practice in 1995 and this has been her main place of work since that time, although she has worked for the Phoenix Surgery Charitable Trust based at The Phoenix GP Surgery in Cirencester, and also at the Osteopathic Centre For Children in London. Meg works mainly as a Cranial Osteopath and has a special interest in treating babies, children and also those with complex or long standing problems. She has also trained as a Healer and can offer healing as part of her work. Meg is registered with BUPA and PPP

Dr Artaine Harte

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Massage Therapist. Artaine qualified as a sports masseur in Melbourne Australia in 1988. Sports massage not only treats sporting injuries as the remedial effects of this type of massage helps other injuries and illnesses. These include aches and pains, back pain, circulatory problems, tension, muscle spasms/tension compensatory muscular problems. Whilst nursing in Australia she had become aware of the benefits of complementary therapies through nursing colleagues and from personal experience. Once qualified in sports massage as well as working with individuals she worked with an Aussie rules football team. It was during this time that, she training as a level two Reiki practitioner in 1990.

Dr Elfie Klinger

Job Title:
Classical Homoeopath. Dr. Elfie Klinger qualified as a conventional medical doctor at the University of Erlangen, Germany. From 1988 to 1993 she undertook research and intensive training in the practice of Homoeopathic Medicine in Celle, Germany. She moved to England in 1993 to join her husband, and has since worked in private practice in both Nailsworth and Cirencester. In 1995 she co-founded the Nailsworth Natural Health Centre and has remained on the management team to this day. She is a GMC registered Medical Practitioner, a member of the Faculty of Homeopathy and the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths. She is also on the teaching team of the Academic Department of the Bristol Homeopathic Hospital.

Dr Katheryne Kavanagh

Acupuncture. Having previously studied Herbal Medicine, phytotherapy, Katheryne had questions concerning the nature of disease remaining. Why do individuals get ill? Why do some recover more easily than others? Why is recovery not possible for some? With these and other similar questions she attended an interview at the International College of Oriental Medicine, ICOM, in 1992, and commenced their full time course in oriental medicine. Graduating in 1995, Katheryne began working in private practice in Kent and East Sussex until moving to Gloucestershire. Following a road traffic accident she returned to the University of Surrey to study Facilitation in Disability Equality Education, while having some time for recovery.
