Ms Sorrel Pindar

Specialisations:
  Osteopathy
Biography:

Sorrel is a registered osteopath. She trained at the London School of Osteopathy, qualifying in 2002 and has been in practice for 11 years. While she runs a general practice treating back problems, neck pain, sciatica and so forth, Sorrel also specialises in the treatment of frozen shoulder and other shoulder problems. Sorrel's approach to treatment is to look for the cause of the problem wherever that may be: frequently a problem in one area (for instance the elbow) is due to dysfunction somewhere else (eg the shoulder or neck). This means that the examination and treatment will focus on your body as a whole and not just on the part that hurts. Sorrel will then take time to explain what the problem is and the options available for treatment. It is important that you as the patient understand and participate in your treatment, taking charge of your own health. Sorrel also takes into account social and psychological factors and their impact on your health, whether it be stress at work or an unhappy situation at home. This approach is reflected also in her interest in visceral osteopathy, the treatment of the internal organs, including the stomach, liver and intestines. The internal organs are affected by both your posture and your emotional state, as well as any disease state. In 2007 Sorrel trained as a Perrin practitioner which enabled her to offer treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, using the Perrin TechniqueTM. Since then, Sorrel has treated dozens of patients suffering from CFS/ME and many have been able to resume a normal life. More information... Sorrel is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), which exists to protect you by ensuring that osteopaths meet the required professional standards. She is also a member of the British Osteopathic Association and of OPRAA, the association for visceral osteopaths. Sorrel participates in an ongoing programme of continued learning, to ensure that her skills and knowledge are kept up-to-date.

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Biography:
"I graduated in June 2012 as a Sports Therapist from the University of Bedfordshire, and have been working at BIHC since January 2013. “What is the first thing you do when you bump your head or stub your toe? Place your hand over it, correct. This instinct is not just a protective but also a healing mechanism. Our body has a natural ability to rejuvenate itself and I believe manual therapy is the best way to assist and boost this process.

Biography:

Leeanne Stewart, BSc (Hons), Naturopath.

"I graduated from the University of Westminster in 2014 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Naturopathy. I use naturopathy daily, for myself and my family; applying both the principles and modalities of naturopathy to manage common illness and serious health complaints. I use naturopathy for first aid purposes, to support general health and well-being, and to strengthen bodily systems that may be functioning at a less than optimal level. This is achieved by clean eating, natural living, home-made remedies, and sleep hygiene and relaxation techniques."
