Be Pain Free - Osteopathic Clinic in Ireland

Be Pain Free

Church Hill, Navan
My name is John and I trained for five years at the world-famous British School of Osteopathy where I was awarded a Master’s in Osteopathy. I gained a wealth of experience treating sports people with muscle strains, office and construction workers with neck and back pain and the elderly with age-related conditions. I hold a diploma in sports massage from the London School of sports massage which I include in my treatments along with dry needling if necessary. I also like to include a special relaxation technique during my treatments which helps people destress and improve their mood. Treating sports people comes naturally to me. Having come from a strong sporting background I represented Longford in GAA at county level from schoolboy up to the inter-county senior panel. I also played Basketball at the National league level. I like to relax by meditating and like to practice what I preach by keeping a good diet and maintaining fitness levels through walking and swimming. I am passionate about my profession and treat a range of issues including back pain, neck pain, shoulder hip and knee pain. Helping patients return to what they enjoy doing is my goal and I thoroughly enjoy the process of guiding and advising each patient along their journey to recovery. Osteopathy is the gold standard when it comes to relieving pain.I look forward to seeing you at our clinic soon. “ My aim is to help relieve your aches and pains through a caring and supportive approach

Everything explained in terms I understood and even insightfulSharon, dublin, 06 02 23

Initial consultation free, thorough collaborative chat and felt very at ease throughout. Had deep tissue laser therapy for post fusion surgery. Everything explained in terms I understood and even insightful. Scheduled plan (package deal of 6 sessions was very affordable comparing on google Dublin) flexible appointments & app: reminders. Excellent outcome for me (decrease in pain, mobility loosening). Have other longstanding issues that would benefit from John's input.John kinda gives you insight into the psychology/physical/pain perception /science of injury/issues (also with links) just helps to understand my own history with back problems. I felt very comfortable, confident and motivated as the treatment went on. He genuinely was interested in my well-being, encouraging me. I never felt rushed. He's funny and caring at the same time. I most definitely will go back with a separate issue.

Back Pain
Dry Needling involves multiple advances of a filament needle into the muscle in the region of a “Trigger Point’. The aim of Dry Needling is to achieve a local twitch response to release muscle tension and pain. Dry needling is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin with very few side effects. This technique is unequaled in finding and eliminating neuromuscular dysfunction that leads to pain and functional deficits. The needle used is very thin and most subjects do not even feel it penetrate the skin. A healthy muscle feels very little discomfort with insertion of this needle. However if the muscle is sensitive and shortened or has active trigger points within it, the subject will feel a sensation like a muscle cramp -‘the twitch response’. The patient also may feel a reproduction of “their” pain which is a helpful diagnostic indicator for the practitioner attempting to diagnose the cause of the patients symptoms. Patients soon learn to recognize and even welcome this sensation as it results in deactivating the trigger point, reducing pain and restoring normal length function to the involved muscle.
Deep Tissue Massage
RELAXATION AND FOCUSOne of the most popular reasons to schedule a massage is to relieve the amount of tension and stress that one may feel. This includes athletes! Training is difficult and requires an enormous amount of dedication and hard work.By allowing the mind to relax and release inner tension, the body follows along.
