Osteopath Consultation €60 - €75
Stresses and strains can accumulate over time and symptoms may begin somewhat insidiously. The Osteopath works with structural imbalances that are present in the body to restore a state of physical balance. Patients often report improvement in many areas of their health. Most people associate osteopathy with back and spinal care for which it can prove to be an effective solution for helping with associated pain. Mechanical problems in the structure of the body can not only lead to aches or pains in the joints, tissues, muscles etc. but it can also lead to disturbances in the internal organs and the way they work. Irregular function may impair blood circulation or lymphatic drainage, and disrupt the nerve supply to any part of the body, thus having a detrimental effect on health. Osteopaths use a wide range of “hands on” techniques to identify, diagnose and treat dysfunction in the body in order to restore the body’s structure and function to a state of balance so that the healing process can be accelerated, thereby improving vitality and general health. Osteopathy does far more than care for back pain and postural irregularities. It also deals with a wide array of issues such as: migrainesheadachesdigestive problemsperiod problemsrespiratory problemsvulnerability to infections due to a depleted immune systemIt has a calming affect on the nervous system and can help with fatigue, mood swings or depression, disturbed sleep. It can help people resolve emotional issues such as anger, grief, depression.
Posture Check €15
Are you a swayback? A sloucher? Military type? Does your bum stick out a bit too much? The truth is the way you sit or stand can have a negative effect on your body over time causing niggling aches or worse. Read on to find out what posture type you might have. Poor posture while sitting, walking or even just standing up can lead to additional strain on your neck and back muscles, as well as your nerves. This excess and unnecessary strain can build up over time and give you the aches that you feel on your back and neck. About 80% of people suffer from back or neck pain at some stage in their lives. Are you feeling any niggling pains or tension now? When the spine is not in proper alignment, the back muscles, ligaments, discs and spinal joints are all under extra stress. If not corrected, this may lead to more permanent problems.Back and neck pain can be improved by correcting poor posture, stretching tight muscles and strengthening weak muscles. How we can help you to become pain free? Firstly we need to diagnose the postural problems that may be causing your pain.  Our expert physical therapist will check out for any imbalances along with muscles that may be too weak or too tight.
CST - Craniosacral Therapy €45 - €70
Craniosacral Therapy, or CST as it is sometimes called, is a very gentle hands-on approach to releasing tensions from the soft tissue of the body, and restrictions to the cranial bones (head) and the sacrum (the big triangular bone at the base of the spine) and in between. These bones are connected by the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord, and with them form what is known as the craniosacral system, which encloses the central nervous system. All of the nerves of the central nervous system have to go through these membranes on their way to and from the brain. Therefore anything that affects this bone/membrane system adversely, could have far reaching effects and is often at the root of such conditions as chronic pain, digestive and respiratory disorders, joint mobility, vertebral disc and jaw problems and much, much more.

Karen Crookes Osteopath Dublin 2 - Karen Crookes

Karen Crookes Osteopath Dublin 2

28 South William Street, Dublin, Dublin 2
Rating from 1 Review I was really impressed with her professionalism and her skillsAnne, Ireland, 13 Oct 14

I went to Karen Crookes three times for a tight neck and lower back, as I wanted to add a physical hands-on- therapy to the other things I was doing. I was really impressed with her professionalism and her skills, the osteopathy was very non aggressive - ( I don't know if that's the right term, but I mean there was nothing unexpected or anxiety provoking in her manipulation of my neck! :) And its a bonus that she is a very affable nice person who I felt quickly at ease with. The results were fast and strong too and that of course is the priority. I felt totally re-aligned and the muscles relaxed over my neck and back in a way that was noticeable straight away, getting better and better till fully gone after the third visit. I also left each time without leaving feeling wrecked tired for the rest of the day, (as had happened before with osteopathy). All in all, highly recommended !!

The Winton Practice

12 Winton Avenue, Rathgar, Dublin, Dublin 6
Rating from 2 Reviews Together with the treatment I also got better eye vision and got rid of my headachesElaine, Ireland, 20 Nov 17

I was referred by one of the consultant practitioners, who actually said that Alexander Gibbs is the only Osteopath he would recommend for back, neck, all sorts of sports issues etc. His practice is full of celebrities like Keith Wood whom I accidentally met in the reception before my session. I had a long lasting problem with my back which was resolved by Alexander within a number of visits. But together with that I also got better eye vision and got rid of my headaches. The best Clinic, very nice and stylish facilities, 5* Spa Hotel Experience.

Trinity Chiropractic and Natural Health Centre - Dr Jeffrey

Trinity Chiropractic and Natural Health Centre

12-14 College Green, 4th Floor, Dublin, Dublin 2
Rating from 6 Reviews No gain without painValerie, Ireland, 01 Jun 17

I had a deep tissue massage. They say no gain without pain and certainly, I felt pain. However 6 hours later I have absolutely no pain in my back. Really good. On completion, the receptionist offered a 20%discount off a future treatment for which advance payment was needed. I told her I wanted to see if the treatment worked prior to booking further appointments. This is a once only offer b 4 leaving.???? Surely a discount when one establishes that it has worked and a client wants to return would make better sense.
