Dr Samuel Wilmann

Biography:
Registered Osteopath Sam has a strong background in anatomy and physiology having taught both subjects at RMIT University where he later graduated from. He was successfully treated for neck pain and headaches and was so impressed with osteopathy that he decided to become one himself! Osteopathy interested Sam for its holistic, hands on approach which uses many different techniques. Every person is different; therefore every treatment is different and tailored to patient's individual needs. Drawing on experience and research Sam enjoys solving the puzzle that can present with complex problems and he will often also give patients specific rehabilitation exercises, stretches or advice to help facilitate healing and prevent re-injury. Sam has had the opportunity to work with the Northcote Victorian premier league as the team osteopath whilst for many years also playing volleyball for Monash University. He also represented RMIT University for beach volleyball at the Australian university games. Exposure to lots of sports and injuries has led to an interest in treating athletes of all calibres. Sam has had his own share of injuries and enjoys helping people get back to their best and doing the things they enjoy. Away from work and sport Sam enjoys travel and has been lucky enough to have had some great travel experiences such as trekking China's tiger leaping gorge and the rainforests of Borneo, sailing on the river Nile, and diving in the Red Sea.

Dr Alicia Mynott

Biography:
(née Dr. Alicia Mynott) Registered Osteopath Alicia originally graduated from RMIT University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement where she first became interested and exposed to the field of osteopathy. Having been treated herself by Osteopaths she then continued her education at RMIT and graduated in 2006 with a Masters in Osteopathy. Whilst completing her studies Alicia worked for two years as a remedial massage therapist, gaining valuable clinical and hands-on experience in massage therapy. After several years working in Melbourne, Alicia then moved to Ireland and worked within multiple clinics around the east coast of Ireland. This experience not only exposed Alicia to different styles of osteopathy and a different culture but she also did a lot of travel around Europe. Alicia has an interest in all types of conditions, in particular patients who have been suffering from neck and low back pain, shoulder, headaches, repetitive strain injuries and arthritic conditions. Her history as an athlete in state and national competitions for volleyball also gives her first hand appreciation of sports injuries. Alicia employs a wide range of techniques, including soft tissue massage, trigger point therapy, dry needling, mobilization, manipulation and exercise advice, with each treatment specifically tailored to your individual needs. Alicia has also undertaken further studies with DMA (Dance Medicine Australia) into Clinical Pilates and enjoys incorporating this into her treatment approach.
