Dr Sharon Franklin

Biography:
Sharon Franklin is a British trained osteopath .She has been keeping women comfortable during their pregnancy and helping settle babies since 1995. Sharon is in the process of completing her training with the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation of Australia and New Zealand (SCTF of ANZ), after being invited to join the faculty. (The SCTF is Australia and New Zealand’s post-graduate teaching foundation for cranial and paediatric osteopathy.) Sharon has established and operated successful practices in the UK , New Zealand and Australia. She was a member of the Australian Osteopathic Associations’ NSW State Council for 2 years and assisted with the continuing professional development program for the osteopathic profession. Sharon’s Focus Sharon's special area of expertise is the treatment of pregnant women and babies. Her real passion is treating babies. "One of the things I love about treating babies, is that when you make a baby happy, you help the whole family. Osteopathic treatment for babies is amazing. It is incredibly gentle, yet profoundly effective", says Sharon. Sharon has treated pregnant obstetricians and midwives, and receives direct referrals from these health professionals. Sharon also focuses on treating headaches and migraines, as well as helping people with chronic pain. Sharon has combined her comprehensive, post-graduate study of paediatrics and obstetrics with substantial hands on clinical experience. She worked at the world renowned Osteopathic Centre for Children, a registered charity in London treating such diverse conditions as asthma, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, eczema, epilepsy and sleeplessness, as well as more common childhood ailments like glue ear and colic. She treated pregnant women, children and babies and also provided comprehensive post natal care for new mothers. Sharon’s Training Sharon graduated from the prestigious British School of Osteopathy in London . She undertook a 4 Year Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Osteopathy. This included over 2,000 hours of hands on clinical training, assessing and treating patients under the supervision of experienced osteopaths. She has completed intensive post-graduate courses in paediatrics, obstetrics and cranial osteopathy. She has also studied ergonomics and workplace assessment, repetitive strain injury and attended up to date seminars on orthopaedic testing. Dr Melissa Jhey

Biography:
Melissa graduated from Southern Cross University in Australia majoring in human structure and function, Osteopathic studies and Osteopathic medicine. Her master’s research focused on professional boundaries in Osteopathic medicine and she has a background of working closely with children and families in the childcare setting. She has been working in as an Osteopath in Sydney treating patients of all ages. Melissa’s Focus Melissa is passionate about helping people of all ages to achieve and maintain optimal health through providing individualised treatments for each patient by using knowledge gained from current evidence and skills acquired through university training and clinical experience. Being a mother of a teenage son, she has first-hand experience in the health issues faced by families and the impact this has on day to day living. Melissa has a special interest in paediatrics and having experienced the pregnancy and childbirth process herself is able to fully understand and support her patients through this journey. She also enjoys treating chronic health issues, sporting injuries and digestive complaints. Melissa’s Training After starting a degree in Naturopathy, Melissa went on to follow her passion for Osteopathy by completing a 5 year double degree at Southern Cross University. During her studies she was a research assistant to her Physiological Pathology lecturer and was responsible for editing clinical diagnosis teaching content. During her 5 year degree she studied anatomy, advanced visceral anatomy, physiological pathology, neuroscience, histology and embryology, biomechanics, clinical diagnosis and Osteopathic Medicine. She is able to draw on a variety of techniques including Muscle Energy Techniques, Positional Release, Functional methods, High Velocity Low Amplitude, Balanced Ligamentous Tension, Counterstrain, Myosfascial Release, Soft Tissue Massage and Osteopathy in the Cranial Field. Ms Sarah Graeme-Evans

Biography:
Sarah is an Australian trained Osteopath, she graduated from Victoria University in Melbourne. Her five year double degree in Osteopathy combined a Bachelor of Clinical Science and Masters of Health Science, Sarah's masters focused on infant examination and assessment. She has clinical experience both in Victoria and Tasmania working with a diverse range of patients. Sarah's Focus Sarah is passionate about holistic patient care and the application of Osteopathic Health Care to clients of all ages. She has always held a particular interest in Women's Health and Paediatrics, with a focus on pre and post natal care. While dedicated in assisting all patients improve their health, she also enjoys postural related dysfunctions including upper back/neck problems and headaches/migraines. Sarah has a personal sporting background and has also worked with athletes and alongside various sporting teams. Whilst in Melbourne she worked as a sports trainer and part of the medical management team for Amateur League AFL. Sarah's Training After starting a degree in Bachelor of Exercise Science, Sarah discovered her passion for Osteopathy. She went on to undertake a 5 year double degree at Victoria University completing a Bachelor of Clinical Science (Osteopathy) and a Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy). Sarah has always held a strong interest in Babies, Children and Women's Health (particularly pregnancy), with her Thesis Title: “The development of a Preliminary Osteopathic Physical Examination for assessing infants aged 0-6 months”. During the five year degree Sarah's study included extensive training in: Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Biochemistry, Radiology, Biomechanics, Psychology, Research, Clinical and Osteopathic: Assessment; Examination; Diagnosis; Rehabilitation, Management and Treatment (including Muscle Energy Techniques, Counterstrain, Balanced Ligamentous Tension, Manipulative Techniques and Cranial Osteopathy). She has also furthered her training in the application of neuromuscular dry needling.
