A Manhattan-based orthopaedic hand surgeon specializing in sports injuries to the hand & wrist, arthritis of the hand & wrist, wrist fractures, fracture-dislocations, scleroderma, microsurgery and carpal tunnel syndrome. Over the past 25 years in practice, Dr. Melone has gained a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable hand surgeons in the United States. Dr. Melone is Director of the Division of Hand Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and director of the Albert Einstein Hand Fellowship Program. He also received the Distinguished Service Citation from New York University Medical School in 1999.

Dr Steven Beldner

A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Beldner is board certified in both orthopedic surgery and hand surgery. His practice encompasses disorders from and including the elbow to the finger tips. Since its inception, he has been the Director of Education for the Hand Fellowship Training Program at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Beth Israel Medical Center. He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and also supervises the subspecialty hand training of the plastic surgery fellows of the Albert Einstein Medical School. Dr. Beldner has published many peer reviewed articles and book chapters regarding his subspecialty in hand problems. Dr. Beldner has been an active elected member of the New York Hand Society since 1998. In 2002, he received the Physician's Recognition Award from the American Medical Association. In 2008, he was chosen by his peers, to become Secretary of The New York Hand Society. This prestigious group includes elected hand surgeons from all over the tri-state area. In 2008, he was chosen as a New York Times Super Doc for his excellence in patient care regarding problems associated with the hand. Only the top 5% of all doctors were elected to this group.

He underwent expert specialty training in Hand/Elbow Surgery at the renowned Harvard Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship in Boston. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and is the fellowship director of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hand Surgery Fellowship at Beth Israel in New York City since. Dr. Polatsch is on the editorial review board of the American Journal of Orthopaedics and Orthopedics for his expertise in hand surgery and has published extensively on a wide variety of hand and upper extremity topics in a multitude of peer reviewed medical journals. He has also presented a substantial number of papers at regional and national society meetings.
