Recognizing the increasing patient demand and the need for specialized care in microsurgery, a dedicated hospital was established in 1991 in İzmir’s Kahramanlar district. Designed as a center of excellence, EMOT was founded with the contributions of valuable stakeholders and has since grown into a leading institution in its field. In 1996, the hospital expanded its scope beyond Hand Surgery to provide comprehensive services in Orthopedics and Traumatology, officially adopting the name EMOT (Hand Microsurgery, Orthopedics, and Traumatology Hospital).
Over the years, EMOT has strengthened its academic and clinical expertise, training future generations of specialists while remaining at the forefront of scientific research. In addition to its surgical services, EMOT has made significant contributions to rehabilitation, leading to the establishment of professional organizations that represent the country at international scientific forums.
Committed to providing holistic musculoskeletal care, EMOT expanded further in 2022 with the opening of the Spine Health Center at Emot Plus Hospital. This multidisciplinary center integrates specialists in Orthopedics and Traumatology, Neurosurgery, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, as well as experienced professionals in Radiology, Neurology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and Biochemistry.
