I recently visited Avicenna Hastanesi Ataşehir with my daughter in October for a blood transfusion, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to Omer, who went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. From the moment I arrived, he guided me through every step—assisting with paperwork, coordinating with the doctor, and checking in on me throughout my blood transfusion. Omer’s kindness, patience, and professionalism were evident from the start. Despite the language barrier with the very kind Doctor who attended to me — since I couldn’t speak the local Turkish language and my kind Doctor who doesn’t speak English — Omer made communication seamless, making me feel completely understood and cared for. His calm and compassionate presence turned what could have been a nerve-wracking experience into something far more manageable. As someone with thalassemia intermediate, I’ve undergone many transfusions over the years, but the level of care Omer provided really touched me. He made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, and his genuine concern for my well-being left a lasting impression. I live in London England. And been suffering with knee pains a while, I was getting hardly and medical help in the UK with the NHS so I had a private scan on both my knees in London and saw a private consultant. I discovered I had to have surgery on both knees. In England that was going to be very expensive and I couldn't afford it and I had a 2 years wait for a NHS hospital, so I decided to go abroad and choose to go to Turkey. I went to the Derindere hospital because I heard good things about it and it was amazing! I was treated like a king! My brother came with me for support and he was looked after as well. We was collected from the airport in Istanbul and taken straight to the hospital, when there I had x rays, mri scans, bloods tests and covid tests. Muhammad (my translater) then took my brother and I out to dinner in local restaurant. The next day I went to theatre to have surgery on both knees which all went well. After I was taken to my private room very happy with everything. The staff in the hospital are wonderful 10/ 10 perfect. The food and service 10/10 amazing. After my 2 nights in hospital my brother and I was taken to their 5 star hotel for conflession. The food everything was excellent. I was supposed to stay in Istanbul 9 nights but stayed longer because of bad weather freezing cold and heavy snow! So had 12 days in total, I had no extra money to pay as flights were cancelled. Muhammad and all the hospital staff were great all the hotel staff were great. I'm very pleased to have had my treatment there and would recommend anyone to go there. Many thanks.
