About Netherlands Hip Clinic

The Van den Eeden Hip Clinic is a highly specialised focusclinic for total hip replacements. 


Our surgeon is highly experienced and has performed hip replacements several hundred times in the past 5 years. 

We operate via the so called DAA approach (Direct Anterior Approach) or AMIS, a minimally invasive procedure which leads to fewer complications and faster recovery compared to other methods.

We offer consultations as well in The Netherlands as in Belgium and the surgery will take place in a highly classified and state of the art clinic in Belgium (Sint-Martens-Latem). 

Our clinic offers the highest standards in relation to patients safety and is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Surgery facilities.

Hip Replacement

I was pain free one day after the operation and able to assume an active lifestyle (including driving a car and playing golf) a few weeks after my hip replacement. The preparation, treatment and aftercare are highly professional and well organised. The entire treatment process, including preparation, surgery and rehabilitation was very effective and well organised.

A small but highly professional private clinic, excellent medical- and non-medical staff. Very modern surgery facility, nice and comfortable patient rooms. Very nice rehabilitation facility the beautiful Dutch seaside.

Biography:

Dr. Frank van den Eeden has been awarded his doctor’s diploma in 1979 by the University of Ghent (Belgium). He has worked for many years in leading orthopaedic hospitals as a surgeon, among others at the University hospital Bonn (Germany), alongside Prof. H. Rössler. In 1985, Dr. van den Eeeden submitted his thesis on the hip disease Epiphysiolysis Capitis Femoris. This disease affects children and can in later life be the cause of hip arthrosis. Dr. van den Eeden has been a pioneer in the so called "direct anterior approach" (DAA), a new operating technique with very low complication rates and fast recovery, allowing patients to quickly assume normal daily activities after the operation. 

Dr. van den Eeden has treated more than 1,000 patients via the DAA approach, with very good results. His enthusiasm for helping patients with hip problems led him to establish the Netherlands Hip Clinic in 2011.

He is a member of the Netherlands Orthopaedic Association, the Belgian Association for Orthopaedics and Traumatology, the Dutch Spine Society and the Hip Society.
