BP KLINIK - Professor Dr. Berrin Pehlivan

BP KLINIK

Levent, Krizantem Sk. No:30, 34330 Beşiktaş/İstanbul, Istanbul, 34330
At BP Clinic, what truly sets us apart from other hospitals and medical centers is our unwavering commitment to a genuinely patient-centered approach. But what does this really mean? It means that every individual who walks through our doors is evaluated not just as a case, a diagnosis, or a single medical problem — but as a whole person. To achieve this, we bring together a multidisciplinary team that includes a dietician, psychologist, medical oncologist, and physiotherapist. Each specialist contributes their expertise to create a personalized, comprehensive treatment plan shaped entirely around the patient’s unique needs. As a professor who has published and contributed to more than 60 scientific studies, I have devoted my entire life to helping people overcome some of the most challenging diseases, including cancer. Throughout my career, one truth has become undeniable: the most effective way to treat cancer is not to focus solely on the disease, but to care for the patient as a whole. This philosophy is the foundation upon which BP Clinic was built. I wanted to establish a center where I had the freedom to treat patients based on what they truly need — not what the system limits or encourages. Here, every decision, every plan, and every treatment is guided by science, compassion, and a commitment to addressing every dimension of the patient’s well-being.
Second Opinion for Cancer Treatment
What is a second opinion? The goal is not “more confusion,” but the opposite: more clarity, more options, and a treatment path that truly fits you. A second opinion simply means having your current diagnosis and treatment plan reviewed by another specialist. How does a second-opinion process work? Your existing reports, scans (MRI, CT, PET), and previous treatments are reviewed in detail. The evaluation is patient-specific — not just disease-focused. Different treatment options are compared, including non-invasive approaches, combined therapies, or alternative strategies that may offer a better balance between effectiveness and quality of life.

Oncologist Consultation
When you come in to meet with me for the first time, think of it as a conversation rather than an exam or a test. My job is to understand what’s been going on with you, look at the information we already have, and explain things in a way that actually makes sense — no jargon, no rush. We’ll go over your history, any symptoms you’ve noticed, and the results of any scans or tests you’ve had so far. I’ll walk you through what those results mean and what we’re looking at. If something is confusing, we’ll pause and talk it through. You can ask me anything, anytime — there’s no “wrong” question. After that, we’ll talk about the different treatment options that might be right for you. I’ll explain what each one involves, what the goals are, and what you might feel along the way. And just as important, I want to hear what you want — your worries, your hopes, your priorities. Those matter just as much as the medical details. People often tell me they feel anxious before this appointment, and that’s completely normal. My goal is for you to leave feeling a little lighter, with a clearer understanding of what’s happening and a plan that feels manageable. We’ll take this step by step, together. You’re not doing this alone.
Cancer Screening
Cancer screening is a way for us to look for signs of cancer before you have any symptoms. The goal isn’t to worry you—it’s to catch potential problems early, when they’re usually much easier to treat and the chances of a good outcome are highest. Different screenings check for different types of cancer. For example, mammograms look for breast cancer, colonoscopies and stool tests check for colon cancer, Pap tests and HPV tests screen for cervical cancer, and low-dose CT scans can help detect lung cancer in people at higher risk. We choose the right tests for you based on your age, medical history, and personal risk factors. Screening doesn’t mean we expect something to be wrong. Think of it as part of keeping you healthy—just like checking your blood pressure or cholesterol. Most screening results come back completely normal, and if something does show up, we’ll talk through it together and decide the next steps. My goal is to make sure you feel informed, supported, and comfortable. If you ever have questions about which screenings you need or when to have them, please let me know. I’m here to help keep you healthy and to make these decisions with you, not for you.
