Carla Morrow

Biography:
Nurse Midwives

Carla Morrow has worked in women’s health care as a nurse since 1995. Carla earned a master's degree in nursing from Texas Christian University in 2004, a post-master’s certificate as a women’s health nurse practioner from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2006, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in nurse midwifery from Baylor University in 2010. Carla enjoys providing a wide range of women’s health care services. “I was looking for a community-based experience where I could really get in and get to know people and their families,” My main goal is to care for women throughout their life and the various stages and health issues they may encounter.” After working as a midwife in a busy OBGYN practice, attending over 600 births, and managing a variety of clinical situations it became clear to her that she could better serve women offering both hospital and out of hospital birth options. She is passionate about empowering women and their families through education and enjoys assisting them in making positive health care decisions based on research, individual risk factors and life philosophy. Carla has been married to her husband Shawn for 22 years. Together they enjoy spending time with their children watching them play a variety of team sports.

Shannon DaSilva

Biography:
Shannon DaSilva is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM). Shannon received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in nurse- midwifery from Baylor University in 2012. Shannon serves in the American College of Nurse-Midwives Division of Global Health and is a Birth Boot Camp natural childbirth instructor. Shannon has also spent time overseas providing women's health care to the underserved. She feels her passion to provide quality health care to women is both a local community based calling and a global calling. Shannon strives to provide individualized care for each patient. She values the time spent with each woman discussing her concerns and desires in order to develop a plan of care that will fit her specific needs. Through this approach, Shannon believes the woman is empowered as a partner in her health care. Shannon provides care for women throughout their life, from adolescence through childbearing years to menopause and beyond. Shannon and her husband welcomed their son into the hands of a midwife after a beautiful unmedicated birth in May 2012. Shannon believes in the God given ability for a woman to birth babies naturally, which she has witnessed countless times supporting women during labor. Shannon is always amazed by the strength of women and the miracle of birth.

Robin Davis

Biography:
Robin Davis has had a passion for labor and birth dating back to nursing school. After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994, she began her nursing career taking care of women with high risk pregnancies. She found her true calling when working as an RN in Labor and Delivery. After fifteen years as a bedside nurse, she completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 2012. She joined the Parkland Midwifery service in 2013 where she has gained profound experience in labor management birth. Robin loves working with women and families. She feels it is an honor to be present during one of the most life changing times in a woman’s life. Robin has been married to her high school sweetheart for thirteen years. They have two children, Hudson 6 and Rhett 1.
