Prof. Atilla Yilmaz is a neurosurgeon specialising in Functional Neurosurgery and Neuromodulation, with particular expertise in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for the treatment of movement disorders. As the leader of his surgical team, he is committed to applying advanced medical technologies and surgical techniques to provide personalised, high-quality patient care.

Prof. Yilmaz takes a hands-on approach throughout the treatment journey, personally overseeing patients from their initial consultation through surgery, recovery, and follow-up care. His approach focuses on thorough evaluation, individualised treatment, and supporting patients throughout their recovery.

In addition to his surgical expertise, Prof. Yilmaz speaks Turkish, English, and Arabic, with working knowledge of Russian and Uzbek, enabling him to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Hülya Mavi is a dedicated Neurologist specialising in the diagnosis and management of movement disorders, including tremor disorders, Parkinson’s disease, and dystonia. She takes a comprehensive, patient-centred approach, combining current medical research with an understanding of each patient's individual needs.

Dr. Mavi conducts detailed neurological assessments and provides personalised guidance on treatment strategies, including careful management of medication therapies. Her thorough and compassionate approach is focused on improving treatment outcomes and supporting patients in maintaining a better quality of life.

Dr. İsmail Şimşek is a neurosurgeon specialising in functional neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, brain tumour surgery, spinal surgery, pain management, and neuromodulation. He earned his medical degree from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and completed his neurosurgical residency at Marmara University.

Dr. Şimşek has gained clinical experience at Marmara University Hospital, Tarsus State Hospital, and currently practices as a Neurosurgeon at Medicana Ataşehir International Hospital in Istanbul. His international training includes research and clinical fellowships at institutions in Finland, France, and the United States.

His areas of expertise include Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and essential tremor, epilepsy surgery including Vagal Nerve Stimulation, brain tumour surgery, advanced spinal procedures, and neuromodulation for chronic pain.

Dr. Şimşek is also actively involved in neurosurgical research and has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters. In 2024, he received the Prof. Dr. Erdem Tunçbay Excellence Award from the Turkish Neurosurgical Society. He is a member of professional organisations including the Turkish Neurosurgical Society and the Stereotactic, Functional, Pain, and Epilepsy Surgery Study and Training Group.

Uygar Çiler is a Psychologist and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Nurse who provides psychological and nursing support throughout patients’ DBS treatment journeys. His role includes preparing patients psychologically for treatment, addressing concerns about procedures and recovery, and providing ongoing mental health and post-surgical support.

Uygar conducts detailed psychological assessments, assists with the programming and management of DBS devices, and performs routine checks of patients’ general well-being. He takes a personalised approach to care, helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their treatment and recovery.

Fluent in two languages, Uygar also helps facilitate effective communication with patients from diverse backgrounds. His combination of psychological expertise and DBS nursing experience makes him an integral member of the clinic’s psychological and post-surgical care team.

Merve Tıraş is a dedicated Physiotherapist specialising in physical rehabilitation and personalised patient care. She provides comprehensive rehabilitative support for patients recovering from surgery or managing chronic conditions, with a focus on improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall quality of life.

Her expertise includes walking and gait exercises, balance training, and occupational exercises designed to improve mobility and functionality in daily activities. Merve also provides daily medical dressing care, supporting proper and efficient wound healing.

Through a compassionate, patient-centred approach, Merve develops tailored rehabilitation plans that address each patient's physical needs and individual health goals, supporting them throughout their recovery journey.

Ali Topraklı is the clinic’s Technical and Logistics Assistant, responsible for coordinating the practical and logistical aspects of patients’ healthcare journeys. His role includes supporting medical staff, managing technical and medical equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and helping ensure that procedures are prepared and carried out smoothly.

Ali also assists with patient transportation and travel arrangements, including transfers, hotel bookings, accommodation, and tour scheduling. By carefully coordinating these services, he helps create a comfortable, organised, and stress-free experience for patients throughout their treatment and recovery.
