Op. Dr. Ferşat Muhacir is an experienced ophthalmologist and Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) with extensive expertise in cataract surgery, refractive procedures, glaucoma treatment, and retinal disease management. With more than 12,000 surgical procedures performed throughout his career, he is recognized for his commitment to advanced ophthalmic care and modern surgical techniques. Born in Tehran, Iran, on April 14, 1967, Dr. Muhacir completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara before enrolling at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1986. He graduated in 1992 and began his ophthalmology training in 1993 at the Ophthalmology Clinic of Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine. Following additional training at the Ophthalmology Clinic of Gazi University in 1996, he obtained his specialist qualification in Ophthalmology in 1997. After completing his specialist training, Dr. Muhacir further expanded his knowledge as an observer at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He subsequently worked at Burdur SSK Hospital and Bucak State Hospital before continuing his professional development through visits to the Netherlands and Austria in 2002, where he studied modern cataract surgery techniques. Throughout his career, Dr. Muhacir has worked in a number of respected healthcare institutions. He co-founded and served as a full-time ophthalmologist at Private Lider Hospital between 2006 and 2009, later working at Private Anamas Şelale Medical Center and Private BSK Lara Hospital. From 2010 to 2020, he practiced at the Ophthalmology Clinic of Private Antalya Anadolu Hospital. Since July 2020, he has been providing care to patients through his own private eye clinic in Antalya. In 2009, Dr. Muhacir successfully passed the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Clinical Assessment examination and earned the prestigious FEBO title after passing the European Board of Ophthalmology oral and written examinations in Paris. His areas of expertise include phacoemulsification cataract surgery, trifocal and toric intraocular lens implantation, refractive lens surgery, laser and surgical glaucoma treatments, pterygium surgery, anterior segment surgery, and the management of retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vascular disorders. Dr. Muhacir is an active member of the Turkish Medical Association, Turkish Ophthalmology Society, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), and American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is married and has two children. Through his extensive surgical experience, international training, and dedication to continuing education, he continues to provide high-quality ophthalmic care to patients in Antalya and beyond.
