MUDr. Andrea Janeková is a specialist ophthalmologist, eye surgeon, and Deputy Chief of Staff at Prague Eye Center. Since joining the center in 2012, she has built a distinguished career in cataract, refractive, vitreoretinal, and glaucoma surgery, and since 2023 has served as Head of the Center for Cataract, Refractive and Vitreoretinal Surgery. Dr. Janeková graduated from the Third Faculty of Medicine at Charles University and has pursued extensive international training, including an internship at the Ophthalmology Department of University Hospital Arnau de Vilanova. She has also completed advanced professional courses and training in Chicago, Vienna, Lisbon, and Barcelona. In 2019, she earned the prestigious FEBO (Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology) title, followed by the highly respected FEBOS-CR (Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology – Specialist Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery) in 2024, becoming the first ophthalmologist from the Czech Republic to achieve this qualification. Performing approximately 3,000 intraocular surgeries annually, Dr. Janeková specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, retinal and vitreous surgery, and glaucoma procedures. Alongside her clinical work, she is actively involved in research on intraocular implants, serves as a principal investigator in clinical trials, and contributes to the education and training of future ophthalmologists. An internationally recognized speaker, Dr. Janeková regularly presents at leading ophthalmology congresses across Europe and the United States, including meetings organized by the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE), and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS). In recognition of her achievements, she was included in the Forbes ranking of the 50 Best Doctors in the Czech Republic in 2026, becoming one of the youngest physicians and one of the few women to receive this distinction. She is a member of the Czech Ophthalmological Society, the Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. MUDr. Lucie Frantlová is a specialist ophthalmologist at Prague Eye Center with expertise in retinal diseases, keratoconus management, and comprehensive ophthalmic care. She graduated from the Third Faculty of Medicine at Charles University and has completed professional training at several leading Czech ophthalmology centers, including the Ophthalmology Clinic of Faculty Hospital Královské Vinohrady. Since joining Prague Eye Center in 2017, Dr. Frantlová has held a number of leadership positions. She has led the MediPort outpatient clinic network since 2021, became Head Physician of the outpatient operations of Prague Eye Center and MediPort in 2023, and was appointed Head Physician of the Application and Retinal Center in 2024. Dr. Frantlová specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, including laser retinal procedures and intraocular anti-VEGF treatments. She also focuses on the diagnosis and management of keratoconus, performs corneal cross-linking procedures, provides general ophthalmic care, and carries out eyelid surgery and other minor surgical interventions. In 2026, she earned the prestigious FEBO (Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology) qualification after successfully passing the European ophthalmology examination in Paris. An active participant in professional education, Dr. Frantlová regularly attends national and international ophthalmology congresses and lectures annually at the Czech Ophthalmological Society Congress. MUDr. Jiří Pašta is one of the Czech Republic’s most distinguished ophthalmologists, with a career spanning more than four decades in eye surgery, clinical practice, research, and medical education. A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at Charles University, he has been affiliated with the Eye Clinic of the Central Military Hospital in Prague since 1980 and served for many years as Head of the Eye Clinic of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the Central Military Hospital. Since 2013, he has served as the Professional Guarantor of Prague Eye Center. Doc. Pašta is internationally recognized for his expertise in cataract, refractive, and laser eye surgery. Having performed more than 30,000 cataract procedures, he is considered one of the leading eye surgeons in the Czech Republic. His professional contributions extend beyond clinical practice to research, innovation, and education, including involvement in the development of advanced ophthalmic laser technologies and intraocular lens research. A prolific author and lecturer, he has published more than 90 professional and educational papers and co-authored several ophthalmology monographs. He has held numerous leadership and advisory positions within national and international ophthalmological organizations and has served as the Chief Ophthalmology Expert for the Army of the Czech Republic since 1994. He is also a consultant registered with the UK's General Medical Council and an international instructor in laser surgery. Throughout his distinguished career, Doc. Pašta has received multiple honors, including the prestigious Professor Vanýsek Medal in recognition of his contribution to the development of ophthalmic implantology in the Czech Republic. His commitment to advancing ophthalmology, training future specialists, and improving patient care has established him as one of the most respected figures in Czech and European eye surgery.

MUDr. Michal Janek is a highly respected Czech ophthalmologist with decades of experience in cataract surgery and eye microsurgery. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Charles University, he held a number of senior clinical positions, including Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Klatovy Hospital and later Chief of the OFTA Eye Microsurgery Center in Pilsen. Since 2011, Dr. Janek has been performing cataract surgery at Prague Eye Center. With nearly 30,000 cataract procedures completed throughout his career, he is recognized as one of the leading cataract surgeons in the Czech Republic. He was among the early pioneers of ultrasonic phacoemulsification cataract surgery in the country and played an important role in promoting outpatient cataract surgery techniques. Dr. Janek has made significant contributions to Czech ophthalmology through his clinical work, education, and professional leadership. He was a co-founder of the Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery and remains an active member, as well as a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He regularly participates in national and international ophthalmology congresses and is actively involved in professional education. In recognition of his contributions to ophthalmology, Dr. Janek received the prestigious Professor Vanýsek Medal in 2008 for his role in advancing implantology in Czech eye surgery. He was also awarded honorary membership of the Czech Ophthalmological Society in 2013. Since 2009, he has shared his expertise as a lecturer in optometry at the Higher Professional School of Health Care in Pilsen.
