I am a 43 year old mum of three with a great passionfor Yoga. I have practiced with manyamazing teachers over the years and am now a fully qualified yoga teacherrunning classes from my Studio in Over Wallop in rural Hampshire
My teacher training has been with the highlyacclaimed founder of Sun Power Yoga – Anne-Marie Newland and I now hold aCYQ/YMCA international yoga diploma and Yoga Alliance 200hrs accredited.
As a yoga teacher,I like to use a blend of flowing movement sequences, strength work, stretching,opening and breathing techniques, including a mix of some of the most powerstyles of Yoga:
· Sivananda Yoga -for Subtle Mind and Breath work
· Hatha - forAlignment
· Ashtanga Vinyasa -for Heat, Flexibility and Stamina
Synchronising thebreath with movement is an important part of my teaching. Using the breath as we move in a flowing andprogressive series of postures is a process which produces intense internalheat. This helps to increase physicalstamina and focus, teaching us to have fun and move effortlessly through life’schallenges.
For me, it isimportant to recognise that everyone is different both physicality and in theirability. I am therefore very attentiveto every person in my class, accommodating all, men and woman from maturebeginners to energetic advanced students. I carefully use modifications of poses for the less advanced studentsand variations for the more advanced, therefore allowing everyone to benefitfrom their practice.
I am also aconscientious teacher and this shows in my hands-on adjustments, explanationsof poses and care to alignment. My useof Sanskrit and English terminology, allows my students to feel knowledgeable,comfortable and relaxed at all times.
