Julie aims to be able to provide her clients when required with advice on relaxation techniques and nutritional advice to enable them to maintain excellent health and wellbeing for both the body and mind.

Treatment Received: Bowen Technique
I was met by a very warm and caring person (Julie). Julie explained everything that would be happening to put me at ease. I was totally comfortable and relaxed when it came the time to have my Bowen treatment. Since that time the pain I was in has subsided and for this I am very grateful. I also found the price for the treatment very good. I would recommend Julie to anyone.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the art of using natural essential oils to help restore the body. The massage combines the therapeutic touch of massage with the properties of the essential oils to provide a holistic treatment for the body and mind. Benefits of aromatherapy massage can include: stress relief, it can help physical and emotional symptoms and can boost the immune system. It can help to improve blood circulation and help aid lymphatic drainage. It can enhance physical and emotional health.

A selection of oils are offered to the client and it is the client who then chooses which oils they wish to include in the blend as they will psychologically choose an oil that is suitable for them.

Bowen Technique (1 hour )

The Bowen technique is a gentle, non-manipulative therapy that helps many conditions.

It is suitable for almost anyone. The technique is gentle and stimulates the body’s own natural healing process. It may be used on babies, the elderly and very sick as well as on sports people and the ‘man in the street’.

The technique is deceptively light, non-invasive and non-manipulative - often it feels like very little has happened - yet in fact it addresses the whole body, working on many levels including the physical, chemical, emotional, and psychological well-being of each client.

From muscular pains and strains, to digestive imbalances, from migraine and headaches to respiratory problems the technique is successful at restoring your body to the balance and harmony of its original ‘blueprint’. Often it only takes two or three sessions to get you there.

Reflexology is a therapy that dates back to ancient Egypt. It is a treatment which is applied to the feet. Reflexology is particularly good for helping relieve the symptoms associated with the following conditions:

  • Stress related conditions

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other digestive disorders

Applied Kinesiology (1 hour )
Kinesiology is a therapy that uses manual muscle testing to determine where the client may have imbalances in their system, and what the client needs in order to restore balance and wellness. The roots of kinesiology can be traced back to the American chiropractor George G. Goodheart who, in 1964, identified that the evaluation of normal and abnormal body function could be carried out by muscle testing. How does it work?

According to the principles of kinesiology, certain muscles or groups of muscles relate to specific body parts and body systems. Muscle testing can determine where weaknesses and imbalances are occurring in the body. Testing is also used to determine the client’s mental and emotional health.

A muscle or muscle group that is strong is likely to be connected to an organ or body part that also is strong; but a muscle, or muscles, that responds weakly when pushed is likely to indicate an organ or body part that needs attention.

The practitioner will begin by seeking to restore the client’s overall system to balance. This can be done in a number of ways, most usually by holding specific energy points on the client’s head or neck. massaging neurolymphatic points mainly on the front and back of the torso, holding energy points, working with the meridians, using Bach Flower remedies, colour or sound. Once the practitioner is satisfied that the client is balanced, the practitioner will then begin to check for physical and mental blockages, food allergies and so on.

What is it good for?

Kinesiology can be used for all kinds of physical, mental and emotional problems including pain; sports injuries; asthma and other problems involving the respiratory system; eczema and other skin disorders; headaches and migraine; menopausal problems; irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue; attention deficit disorder; panic attacks; depression; and insomnia.

Pregnancy Massage

Most people enjoy human touch and particularly during pregnancy a touch can convey comfort, awareness and also help alleviate aches and pains.

All of these are of benefit, especially when you are pregnant.

Benefits of Pregnancy Massage include:

• Tranquil relaxation and stress reduction.

• Relief from muscle cramps and spasms, particularly in the lower back, neck, hips, and legs.

• Increase in blood and lymph circulation, which can reduce swelling.

• Reduces stress on weight-bearing joints.

• Improves outcome of labour and eases labour pain.

• Provides support for the new mother with physical and emotional strains of mothering.

Massage during pregnancy differs from a regular massage in a couple of ways. The biggest way it differs is that the person receiving the massage is pregnant, and therefore knowledge of pregnancy and the anatomy of a pregnant woman are very important. This means that positioning during a massage is critical to the safety and well-being of both the mother and the baby she is carrying. There are also parts of the body that should not be massaged.

Massage is beneficial for almost everyone. Even women carrying multiples babies can benefit greatly from massage.

How does pregnancy massage differ from regular massage?

The mothers body must be properly positioned and supported during the massage, using pillows and padding. Proper positioning ensures comfort and safety for the mother and baby.

What are the benefits of pregnancy massage?

Pregnancy massage can help to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and can also help to relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints.

It is a popular complementary therapy during pregnancy for back pain, when choices for pain relief, such as medication, are often limited.

Not only can massage be physically beneficial, but the human touch can be comforting and provide emotional support during pregnancy.
