Dr Thomas Minor

Biography:
Initial introduction to Fresno and the surrounding communities came in 1990 when he accepted a scholarship to play baseball for Coach Bob Bennett and the Fresno State Bulldogs. He played on the 1991 College World Series team and was an All- American pitcher in his senior campaign. After 2 seasons of professional baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals, he matriculated to medical school at the University of Chicago, where he was elected president of his class. Dr. Minor completed 6 years of surgical training in Urology at the University of California, San Francisco, considered by experts to be one of the top 5 programs in the US. His infertility interests and skills were fostered and enhanced under the expert guidance of Dr. Paul Turek. Following a laparoscopic and robotic fellowship in Australia, he returned to the Central Valley in early 2007 to become the second founding member of Valley Urology. He has performed thousands of vasectomies, and numerous vasovasostomies and microscopic procedures to harvest sperm. He feels truly blessed to participate in the urological health of Central Valley patients. Dr. Minor has a beautiful daughter and is happily married to his lovely wife, Selena.

Dr Nadeem Rahman

Biography:
Graduated from Duke University School of Medicine and completed his Urology residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He has co-authored numerous nationally recognized articles and has spoken extensively at national and international meetings. He was recently awarded the Robert Krane Prize in Urology for the top research paper in the British Journal of Urology. He initially started his career in Arizona but returned to California to join Valley Urology. Dr. Rahman’s professional interests include male infertility, erectile dysfunction, male and female reconstructive surgery and minimally invasive surgery for prostate and kidney cancer. He is regarded as a national expert in the field of robotic surgery. As such, he is actively sought to teach other Urologist robotic and minimally invasive surgery. While not attending to patients, Dr.Rahman enjoys spending time with his wife Kauser and his two sons Yousef and Zayd.

Dr Greg Rainwater

Biography:
Is proud to have been born and raised in the Central Valley of California. Growing up in Visalia and graduating from Redwood High School he went back east for his college education. He returned to California and completed his medical school education at University of Southern California and while a medical student was elected the student body president and sat on the Admissions Committee. He stayed for 5 years at USC to do his urologic training under the guidance of some of the leading urologists in the country. At that time, USC was considered one of the top five programs in the US. He returned to the Valley in 1984 to practice Urology. While doing his urologic training at USC and practicing in the Valley, Dr. Rainwater has always been on the cutting edge of new innovation. At USC he was involved in the first continent urinary diversion for bladder cancer and he did the first ureteroscopy for stone disease. While living in Fresno he has been involved in doing many of the first innovative prostate cancer tests and treatments. He was the first urologist in the Valley to do nerve sparing radical retropubic prostatectomy for prostate cancer. He brought to the Valley the first prostate ultrasound machine to help diagnose prostate cancer as well as being involved with the first lab that did the prostate specific antigen blood testing for prostate cancer. In the 1990’s he was involved in the first laser prostatectomy in the Valley for benign disease. In the 2000’s he was the first to be involved in doing brachytherapy and cryotherapy for prostate cancer. He did the first robotic laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in March 2004 at St. Agnes Hospital. He has been the first involved in the new urinary incontinence procedures for both men and woman. Dr. Rainwater has been involved with male infertility for 25 years, working with Dr. Sueldo who had just finished his female infertility fellowship is USC. Dr. Rainwater has been performing vasectomy reversals and varicocele surgery for over 25 years with great success.
