Gyncare

She is a member of the assisted reproduction section of the Slovak obstetric gyneacological society.

Doc. MUDr. Silvia Toporcerová, PhD., graduated general medicine at the Medical Faculty of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (UPJŠ) in Košice in 2000, and in the same year she started post graduate doctorate study at the 2n Clinic of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. 

In April 2003, she passed the 1st degree board certification from gynaecology and obstetrics at the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava. In 2002, she started to work as a junior doctor and later as an Assistant Professor at the 2nd Clinic of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Medical Faculty of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University and Luis Pasteur University Hospital in Košice, where she was the Head of the Centre for Assisted Reproduction until 2013. Between 2013 and 2016 she worked as the Medical Director and an expert guarantor in the Sanatorium for Infertility Treatment in Košice. In 2007 she received special board certification from gynaecology and obstetrics at the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava, and in 2012 she passed the qualification exam in Reproductive Medicine at the Institute for Post-graduate Medical Education in Prague. She has authored and co-authored several professional monographs, university and other textbooks as well as professional scientific articles.

MUDr. Miroslav Herman, PhD., is one of the founders of assisted reproduction in Košice and Slovakia. He has dedicated over 26 years to work in this field and was one of the founders of the 1st National Centre for Assisted Reproduction at the 2nd Clinic of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Medical Faculty of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

In 2001, he established Gyncare – the first private centre for assisted reproduction – where he worked as the Director and professional sponsor. He is a co-founder of the first sperm bank complying with the EU standards in the Slovak Republic. He has carried out over 6,000 retrievals of reproductive cells and embryo transfers. He worked as the Chairmen of the Committee for Assisted Reproduction at the Slovak Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics, as a member of the editorial board of a professional journal and has authored or co-authored a number of professional papers at home and abroad. He gained his first professional experience in assisted reproduction during his scientific work and study in the UK, Israel and the USA. He works as a gynaecologist and professional representative of the tissue facility at the Gyncare centre for assisted reproduction.
