"The best equipped fertility clinic"
1.3 50Reviewed 24 Mar 2014 Review verified by email.
Treatment Received: ICSI - Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
I would recommend this clinic solely based on the fact that it is probably the best equipped fertility clinic in Ireland in terms of human resources, available options for clients and equipment.

The nature of the type of work being done at SIMS means that clients are rather 'vulnerable' and emotions are fragile when they go for any treatments or procedures. Without doubt, the clinic has very qualified staff and are up to date in all their work. However, the clinic would be a better place if there was a little effort made to treat clients/patients in a warm manner. After all, the clinic is working with human beings with feelings and emotions.

My husband and I have been there 6 times now for different investigative procedures and treatment. We have both found the staff - particularly the administration and support staff - very unfriendly and the atmosphere sterile and cold. There has been no attempt to make clients feel welcome or relaxed. The accounts and reception staff were particularly cold though we couldn't put a finger on it. One gets the impression that they are making a concerted effort to keep clients at a distance. Our entire experience was terrible but we had no better choice. I actually thought of writing to the media and getting them to do a story/article on the experiences of clients there.

"Very professional and informative doctor"
3 50Reviewed 15 Mar 2014 Review verified by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Fertility Specialist Consultation
Initial consultation

We attended an open information morning in December. It's all very new to us and was a big step. They asked us to fill out a questionnaire on the day and said that we would then get our first consultation free. We thought we have nothing to lose so we made an appointment to see Dr. O. We couldn't fault the doctor at all; he was very professional and informative. The receptionist on the other hand was a different story. She claimed we had to pay for the appointment and then made it out that we were lying about the information morning. Good thing I had email confirmation that our initial consultation was free. She then tried to charge us half price! It has turned us off going back. They turned something so simple into a traumatic experience for us both.

"Positive care and treatment!"

Treatment Received: ICSI - Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
3 ICSI's

We have had the experience of 3 ICSI's in SIMS. The 2nd a success. I could not fault the care and treatment that we have had, but they need to train their front of house staff!!! The ladies at reception are cold, unfriendly, have made unhelpful comments and have been down right rude on a number of occasions. Try and avoid reception at all costs during your treatment!

"I have nothing but praise for Sims IVF"
5 50Reviewed 11 Nov 2013 Review verified by email.
Treatment Received: ICSI - Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
After many years wasted with another treatment facility things became very stressful and when we were finally told we needed IVF, even though we were prepared for it the news, was still a shock. We found the clinic and doctor so cold and uncaring felt like it was all money orientated.

We decided to try Sims fresh start we received our notes from previous clinic and Dr. Salema did not wish to repeat tests, which I thought was brilliant. Our first consultation we were put at ease it was like a weight was lifted and stress gone.

ICSI commenced in September 2012 first attempt and we were successful a beautiful and healthy baby boy born in June 2013.

I have nothing but praise for Sims. Every step we felt so supported and money was barely mentioned.

"Patient friendly."
1.5 50Reviewed 31 May 2012 Review verified by email.
Treatment Received: Fertility Specialist Consultation
I found the communication systems in the clinic poor and I did not like the way the administrative staff spoke to me. I felt that it was very busy but that it's not particularly patient friendly. Felt a bit lost and confused by the way we were treated.

"The real professionals"
4.4 50Reviewed 21 Dec 2011 Review verified by email.
Treatment Received: IVF - In Vitro Fertilisation

It is never easy, but it went better than I expected and I thought I'd share it. If you want the best, then these guys are probably the real professionals. Judging by what we saw before anyway. You know by the questions you're asked. The doctor - David - heard us, got to the real problem. He wasted no time, got us started, only did necessary tests. ICSI was used this time. More privacy and better facilities - the clinic is wow in Clonskeagh. The doctors and nurses saw the human side. Doctor D made sure he looked after us right the way through. The counsellor was a surprise support. There are videos on the sims site on how to take the medication and we did use them. Sims, for us, made a long road easier. Glad we got the recommendation. Now here's hoping. Will let you know.

"Some nurses excellent"
2.9 50Reviewed 05 Dec 2011 We were unable to verify the reviewer.
Treatment Received: Fertility Specialist Consultation
I would recommend this clinic as with the limited competition in Ireland it is probably the best. This does not mean it is excellent by any means. Very much a conveyor belt approach. Different nurses each time. Different doctors for each procedure. Very limited interaction with doctor. Some nurses excellent, others mediocre and doctors not particularly warm (excluding dr sills who has now left). They could also pay substantially more attention to ensuring patients dignity maintained during procedures (what little there is!!). From what I can see potentially standards slipping due to large number of patients.

Treatment Received: IVF - In Vitro Fertilisation
Fantastic! Could not be happier with the quality of service I received in SIMS. I had three months of treatment then three IUIs and then IVF but felt I was given every opportunity to get the positive result we received in the end. The level of care I received was second to none.
