Ms Janet Fraser

Biography:
She is the Chief Operating Officer of Atlantic Assisted Reproductive Therapies (better known as the AART Clinic) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She has worked in Health Care most of her career, starting from the time she was in University, working part-time at a busy Family Medicine Clinic. In 1986, she joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dalhousie University . As its Chief Operating Officer, she played an integral role of the development of Atlantic Assisted Reproductive Therapies (AART), serving as the Project Manager while the Clinic was being built. Once AART opened its doors in January 2005, she assumed the role as Chief Financial Officer for the Clinic as part of her portfolio in the Department. In 2010, Janet resigned from the Department to become the COO of AART full-time. Janet holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Saint Vincent University, and an MBA from Dalhousie University.

She became a Clinical Embryologist in 1985, working at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia then the Foothills IVF Programme in Calgary, Canada. She then became a consultant in IVF as Director/Secretary of Mortimer Scientific Consulting Pty Ltd, and was Managing Director of GenARTech Pty Ltd, a laboratory supply company. She was the Laboratory Director at the Genesis Fertility Centre, the commissioning Scientific Director of the Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine, and is currently the Scientific Director of the Grace Fertility Centre in Vancouver. Since 2010, she has been a full-time consultant with Oozoa Biomedical Inc, in the areas of systems design and application in ART laboratories, and in research communications.Vice President

Ms Janet Takefman

Biography:
She is a clinical Health Psychologist and Assistant Professor in both the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Psychology, at McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and is Director of Psychological Research and Services at the MUHC Reproductive Centre. She is a clinician, researcher and educator. She has co-authored more than 50 chapters and reserach articles on infertility and is the co-creator of FertiQoL, the gold standard instrument measuring quality of life during infertlity. She volunteers her expertise to several profesional organizations including being past Chair of the Mental Health Group of ASRM, and the Counselling Group of CFAS. She is the Vice-President of Fertility Matters Canada (FMC).
