Miss Catherine Varley

Biography:
As a registered Chinese Medicine practitioner with AHPRA and a member of AACMA, Australia’s largest Chinese medicine association, I work to help my patients address both acute and chronic health issues. Within the framework of Chinese Medicine, I work with a whole person approach to meet your goals and challenges, providing you with a unique approach tailored to your individual needs. Interested in health from the age of 16 years after a serious car accident, I spent many years researching and living within an holistic framework consisting of growing my own organic food, feeding my family (3 children) a chemical free whole food diet and seeking alternative health care for my family, including osteopathy, homeopathy and acupuncture. After working in the health field for 5 years as a senior vitamin consultant for one of Australia’s leading vitamin companies, I decided to further my career within the health industry. After doing many courses, including massage, reiki, and flower essences, I embarked on a career in Chinese Medicine in 2005. I have special interest in using whole foods and dietetics and continue using my previous knowledge gained though working with vitamins and minerals, to maximize your results. Although Chinese Medicine is thousands of years old, it is now a registered profession and is on the cutting edge of integrated health care choices and a proactive form of preventative healthcare. I believe that Chinese Medicine meets society’s rapidly changing healthcare needs. Through the results and healing I have seen in my patients, I have observed how this medicine comes to life in our modern world, when patients may be on different medications for the different ¨parts ¨of their health as well as separating mind and body. Chinese Medicine instead unifies the whole person by treating the root of the issue, spirit, mind and body as one. Taking a different perspective than the Western philosophy of helping one ¨part¨ of the body at a time, I instead follow this extraordinary path of Traditional Chinese Medicine by healing – one person at a time
