Biography:
Completed a Ph.D. in Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery at the Catholic University of Rome (Italy). In April 2002: he went to Baltimore (MD), as a visiting doctor, to the “Corneal and Cataract Service” of the “Wilmer Eye Institute” at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, directed by Prof. W. J. Stark. In March 2002: he went to New York (NY) to attend the refractive surgery centre “Laserone” . In April 2000 Sebastiano Serrao went to Columbus Ohio, to the Revision Eye Centre, under the direction of James Schumer MD, where he completed the “Nidek EC-5000 Excimer Laser Training and certification course”. In 1996 Sebastiano Serrao was registered to the General Medical Council and attended the medical retina department of the Moorfields Eye Hospital (London, UK) directed by Prof. A.C. Bird. During the 1991 to 1992 academic year he graduated in medicine and surgery from the Catholic University Of The Sacred Heart (Rome, Italy).
