He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1983 University of Florence. He specialized in Ophthalmology University of Bari. Lecturer Teaching of Refractive Surgery. Surgery Anterior Segment . Ocular Pharmacology. Ophthalmology Legal. He e started since the year of university studies to approach the experimental surgery with the therapeutic use of the first laser. Always he has been dedicated to the Refractive Surgery and Anterior Segment: Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma, keratoconus, laser therapy ; his interests go even to the Ocular Pharmacology and the Legal Ophthalmology. First student of Prof. Luigi Cardia and Prof. Carlo Sborgia in Bari , has followed the teachings of Prof. Best Mario and Prof. Brancato Rosario in Milan. It improved in 1988, in Barcelona at the ' Institute Barraquer (Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre de Barcelona). It is Professor Refractive Surgery and Anterior Segment at the Eye Clinic - University of Milan. He is in charge of Legal Ophthalmology at the School of Specialization in Clinical Ophthalmology - University of Milan. Is Professor of Ocular Pharmacology of the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan HC. He participated in the studies and the clinical stage on chemotherapy, antibiotics and the brand new antiangiogenesis drugs (Maugen - - Acetonide - Ivt) useful for the degenerations of the Macula (AMD). Recently he takes an active interest in treatments Cross Linking with Riboflavin and rays Ultraviolet treatment of keratoconus and created the international protocol on photomodulation ultraviolet also new drugs for the treatment of severe corneal diseases or to reduce the discomfort after surgery or refractive of cataracts. He has collaborated with research centers (prostaglandins, prostamides, alpha blocker blockers, miotics, diuretics) for the treatment of glaucoma.
